It is. While the uni are being good about fee and rent payments and my parents are happy to help out with food, it is very frustrating seeing everyone else getting their money and doing normal student things eg go to the pub occasionally! Finding a good church within walking distance of my accommodation has helped though, as has the lovely chaplaincy (multifaith and the better for it imo) who do free lunch on Mondays and free hot drinks throughout the week. The Christian Union is not really my thing though (being a smells and bells Anglican girl). Finding learning to pray the Rosary very comforting.

Please hold the family of Jesse in your thoughts and prayers. He was only eleven years old when he was struck by lightening (under a clear blue sky, as I understand). He was in a coma, and died yesterday. This happened at his school, where one of my piano students also attends.

The whole community is so sad and shaken by this. [Votive]

For a friend who's dealing with long-term difficulties, and some new ones.

Thanks!

Well student welfare are happy to give me a loan until my money comes in - still appreciate prayers of course, but a very welcome answer to very pressing financial needs (like being able to use the coin-operated washing machines in order to have clean clothes).

For the student finances at Albadom. (I don't have any contact with the undergrads at Hogwarts, but I assume they're just as likely to be affected by this, so let their nerves be soothed and their needs provided for, please.)

For the family of Jesse, Lord have mercy.

For Golden Key's health, general upholding, wisdom, and private intentions. For the friend's long-term and newer difficulties to be resolved.

For the black dog to go back where he came from.

For ebeth, for healing.

For Sioni's D.

For things to get much easier for Curious.

Another less-than-great day for me today. I need to pull out the stops tomorrow.

For the replacement of that which has needed replacing for a long time.

For the Telemum.

For a household job to be completed smoothly on Thursday.

For the Telefinances.

For R.

And for JFH.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of my friend and fellow Scouter, George, who went to be with the Lord early today. 98 years old and still a presence in our local Baden-Powell Guild. He and his wife would have been married 75 years this December.

LL is once again depressed and unhappy about going to school, mainly caused by annoyed comments of classmates who resent his tics. What's different this year is that I have a teacher and counselor pushing for a diagnosis of autism (!) though he doesn't fit the criteria. It'll be months before we can get in to see a real doctor who can rule it out. in the meantime they are taking out their frustration on me.

Oh, and I came this close to being killed on the freeway last night by an aggressive driver. I can't help feeling this (and several recent deaths and attacks on church people) has a great deal to do with a new mission effort which is resented by Somebody Below. Would you pray for our protection?

I've been silently praying (and lurking) for all here, but suddenly Lamb Chopped's request nudged me - while praying for safety and protection for LC and the members of her church, please add a prayer for similar protection in advance for the team at my church who on Sunday start up a new venture aimed at reaching people who find they can't get to church events at the regular times.
Thank you.

This seems to be a good time to recall Pope Leo XIII's Prayer to St. Michael:

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the Power of God, thrust into hell, satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Well, Student Finance is now saying they've sent me my declaration to sign...but the wrong amount of money is showing up, and my means-tested grant (the cause of all the annoyance!) is not there. Without it I can't afford my rent, let alone food. Neither is the declaration showing up in the correspondence section. I have a feeling it's an IT problem at their end (common for Student Finance) but it's all a real pain. That and I've lost my rosary. So prayer for protection from Someone Below would be very much appreciated by me too. I can hear my dad nudging me to ask for prayers to St Anthony of Padua for the lost rosary too, so if anyone wants to do that it certainly wouldn't go amiss.

Praying for all, especially Lambchop's son - that his classmates can be understanding and supportive of his differences and that their teacher and parents assist them in gaining this understanding. Also praying for all struggling at the moment for whatever reason.

Please pray for my cousin's six year old son Nat who has an operation on his ear tomorrow. A while back he had a non-cancerous tumor removed, but unfortunately the small bones in his ear also had to be removed, leaving him with no hearing in that ear. Tomorrow they are removing any remaining tumor and if they are able to will put in prosthetic bones to restore his hearing. He's a tough kid, but please pray for him to deal well with it all emotionally and for the surgeons to be able to restore his hearing.

Please also pray for my friend A. who is getting married on Saturday. She has had a tough life - she has moderate cerebal palsy, was physically and sexually abused by family members as a child and then by a partner as an adult. Her previous partner left her while she was pregnant and she then miscarried the baby, leading to depression. Last year was a very bad year for her with her depression but the doctors have finally got her medication right so she is much happier now.

Her fiance seems like a nice guy but they have only known each other for a few months so please pray that they are right for each other and that the marriage is strong, happy and lifelong.

Please also pray that her family members make the day a happy one for her. Her mother hates her stepmother and some of her other relatives are not pleasant either. She is a Christian and has forgiven them all, but no-one has ever accepted responsibility for her childhood abuse.

A. is also planning to have children, but this means that she will need to come off some of her medications. Please pray for her mental health to stay strong through the process. I am very worried as she was self harming and shut herself off from everyone when her depression was at its worst.
