For all of us who mourn and grieve...

Just found out that lovely lady I went on expedition with a couple of years ago lost her husband just like that at the start of the summer hols - especially shocking as he was fit outdoors type...

Yet another loss in a year of losses - I am holding tight to the promise of Eternal Life.

Thanks for prayers - the service went well - even the Lego. We must be being told something, I spoke about building walls, from Nehemiah, next week's speaker is also speaking about building, this time from Haggai.

For Grammatica to get unembarrassed and her costs reimbursed. For focus, sleep, and unitasking.

For the three Indiana college students known to Mamacita. For the parents of the one who died.

Yeah, Amanda.

For Ethne Alba's family difficulties to be seen in the light of eternity.

For harmony hope's friend to be comforted in the loss of her husband.

For Mad Cat's private intention.

For strength for Curious.

For St Gwladys, thank You. For accommodation for Lord P.

Even though it seems impossible, I would like to start saving or at least break even next month (December, which brings with it, as we all know - car tax renewal! Car insurance renewal! And the loveable joker in the pack, the MOT! And did I mention that I now drive to work!)

For the neglected fraidy cat who eats with us and had taken to sleeping on the sofa. The Telecat decided to bounce him off every wall and is guarding the catflap zealously. I'm worried about him being outside this cold night, he is too skinny to cope well.

apocalypse comes to small town, Alaska.

remember our flooding in September? and the big fire about 10 days ago? We had another fire last night. there's another one currently being battled right now, across the street from last night.

and now, the ice has jammed so we have another flood warning.

so, prayers. whatever you got. this is nuts.

These are the most minor of things by comparison with what some shipmates are going through - but could you pray for Mr. S as he covers for the regular supervisor at another food bank today? His regular day was very stressful and he expects this to be even worse (people's stories can be heartbreaking).

Also, please pray for success for a fundraising concert at our church on Saturday, with which we are heavily involved. The planning has been one long series of frustrations, I still don't feel properly in control of it, and now the church heating has broken and won't be fixed for Saturday. It's in aid of two really good causes in Africa and I so want it to be a success.

Thank you all for your prayers, I know how effective they can be [Votive]

Mrs. S, not feeling very intrepid this morning.

Can you please pray for my sister who has post-natal depression. She's on meds but they haven't kicked in yet.

And for me too: I just suddenly feel very tired and a bit weighed down by burdens I'm sharing for other people. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to do so: just need a bit of extra strength.

Not horrible, but very inconvenient and probably costly.

Our car (actually, Mrs Sioni's car) is very sick. It cut-out a couple of hundred yards from home and won't start. Starter motor goes, engine doesn't. You all know that situation.

It looks like we may need a replacement so [Votive] that we can get a decent car for which we will need a loan that won't cost us an arm and a leg to pay for it (and ideally, clear some of our credit card too).

[Votive] safe travels for Welease Woderwick

Healing for daisymay's grandson J

[Votive] a way through car troubles for Sioni Sais and Mrs Sioni, that the new car might not be a lemon

Healing for Spiffy's friends' newborn baby in the NCIU

[Votive] strength for ArachnidinElmet

For Telepath, success and safety in facing a big responsibility

[Votive] for ebeth's appointment with the specialist on Wednesday

For Niteowl's two specialist appointments this week

[Votive] peace of mind for all those facing difficult or challenging situations this week

Many thanks to all who prayed for my housemate, she is much better and we had test results that show she doesn't have multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis although two of her colleagues have contracted this illness

Very hot and dusty here with more rioting up the road, houses burning and barricades thrown up to protest the lack of clean water in an informal settlement. Desperate and destitute people and I hope the municipality gets in water supplies soon. I always dread the Christmas season out here because of the cholera/typhoid outbreaks and the violence. Asking for prayers.

Folks , can i post a statement from my friend Rachel, who says what i want to say better than I can.

"I have an amazing friend who inspires me to live life to the full, to never regret, to show love, appreciate the blessings of life and love my family more everyday... Rebekah had breast cancer 3 years ago & it's come back in her spine.

Today me & my church are dedicating this day (in amongst the business of everything else!) to pray for healing... Please pray for her and her family & if you have a prayer request post it... I'm on the case! My God is an amazing God! "

I will be joining the Prayer group tonight, and if any shipmates could offer up a prayer or two for Rebekah - it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am being asked by my minister if I will take up a role for the URC I have done before. I got caught up in some really nasty denominational politicking last time and although I enjoy the role and am quite passionate about the ministry involved, I am not willing to return without assurances that something similar will not happen again.

For Nicolemrw's brother.

For comet's town, for protection from the elements, and in particular quenching of the fire.

For Golden Key's important personal matter.

For Mr S and the people he serves. For success of the fundraising concert.

For strength for Churchy's friend and healing for her friend's daughter.

For Amanda to turn the page that needs to be turned.

For kingsfold's sister, for healing. For strength and energy for kingsfold.

For Welease Woderwick.

For healing for daisymay's J.

For citrus-free and affordable replacement of the Sionis' car.

For Spiffy's friends' baby.

For ArachnidinElmet, for strength in both big things and little things.

For healing for ebeth.

For continued healing for mother and aunt Niteowl. For healing for Niteowl.

For healing for Mary LA's housemate, and her colleagues. For quelling of riots, and peace for the municipality, abundant water supplies, full control of infection, and in particular, safety for Mary LA herself.

For healing for beatmenace's Rebekah.

For reconciliation for Jengie Jon if she is to take up that ministry.

Thanks for prayers this morning, I needed them. I need to pass a test tomorrow and in particular, arrive on time when it is especially difficult to manage that.

I am making really good progress in cultivating good habits and not skipping down the primrose path to ruin. I'd like that to continue. The finance-monster growls, though.

For the Telemum.

I mentioned a few days ago that DIL wants my son to move out, at least for a time. He has just missed out on a great place. It needs to be close to station in one of two places, at least two bedrooms, preferably three, so he can have his children. DIL wants somewhere decent for him, I really believe she still has feelings for him. It also needs to be affordable as he will still be paying rent where DIL and children will live as well as on this place.

Please pray for my oldest friend A, who lives in Australia. I had a phone call last night from her brother to tell me that A's son N had died suddenly aged only 28. I feel very far away, and very sad.

Also prayers for me - work is going from bad to worse and I'm within a hairbreaths of walking out. I feel too old and too deaf to carry on much longer.
