For Mad Cat, a prayer for strength, as well as wisdom and courage.
A similar prayer for Gussie--strength, wisdom and courage.
For all parents who have lost a child.
For Adrienne and her friend.
For Zoey's private intention. Sleep well, dear, and pleasant dreams. (possibly the first time that smilie has been used in a non-sarcastic fashion!)

On the scale of things, this is going to be really minor, but next Wednesday at 3:00 I am going to re-take a math placement test I just tanked a half hour ago. I have not been in a math class for about 10 years, and I felt it.
I will use this week to study up, and loosen my math memory, but if I am going to graduate in the Spring, it is important hat I get placed in a class that is transferable to my university. SO-- prayers appreciated!

For things to get extraordinarily easier for St Everild.
For reconciliation between Lothlorien Jr and Lothlorien DIL.
For healing, acceptance at work, and freedom from fear for Mad Cat.
For Gussie's friend A to be comforted in her loss. For Gussie's work problems to be resolved.
For healing for Adrienne's L and her daughter J. For Adrienne herself.
For Zoey's private intention, and for her to get some sleep and not screw up at work.
I arrived on time against Jack Bauer-style incredible odds, and passed. Phew.
Finance-monster still needs to be kept away.
For the Telemum.
For R.

I overreacted to something yesterday and today. It had to do with a decision made by officials on the state level about certain work rules that affect all of us.
If the decision had been as bad as my interpretation of the announcement made it out to be, it would have been very consequential for me and everyone else in my position.
As it turned out, the decision's consequences are going to be nowhere near as bad as I had feared. So my judgment was seriously off and I was publicly panicked, which is bad. I feel badly about this, of course, though I'm glad things are turning out to be not quite so dire after all.
I do not trust the people around me and make a fair number of personal decisions based on that lack of trust, which can create other problems for me as well.
I want to be able to have an appropriate level of trust, better judgment, and less reactiveness. Please pray for me.

I really need my bank transfer to come through to my Indian account today so that people here can do silly things like eating whilst I am away! It would also help if I could suddenly stumble upon my gloves and faux-fur lined hat - but the money thing worries me as my UK bank have cocked it up the last two months.

The wonderful news is that Baby L will be going home, God and the pediatric surgeons willing, on Friday. Baby L still needs lots of prayers, as do the parents, as they begin a journey with a special needs child, particularly since at this point, they don't know what the child needs quite yet.
Also, prayers for B who is starting chemo soon but doesn't know how it'll get paid for.
And if you could throw a quick prayer my way, for a situation at work, that'd be awesome.

Protests and rioting over for the time being while wage negotiations go on and municipal services resume. Many thanks for the prayers. I reread a biography of Dorothy Day this last week and found myself hoping she might be canonised soon if for no other reason than that her work and writings deserve to be better known.

And there's more
My team leader and good friend, D, was a lot brighter on Tuesday but that was a false dawn. He rang in on Wednesday morning having had a rough night (flashbacks and nightmares) and emailed in this morning in much the same state. A colleague spoke to him and she thought he was in a bad way too. He really does need prayer now, for if he doesn't believe that he can recover I fear for him. please, please, please.

Yesterday heard of three members of our church in hospital - one following cancer treatment, one in ICU after suspected heart attack, one collapsed on a morning walk. Then last night, heard that older husband of a dear friend had fallen and hit his head. Please pray for E, E, N and C, all known to and loved by God.
Thank you, prayer warriors everywhere.

Right can you keep praying about the ministry situation, my minister was not quite straight with me. I thought I would be volunteering for something on a temporary basis (or until someone more suitable came along), it now looks as if it could turn into an open ended commitment. If that my response that I want clear boundaries definitely holds. If only because going from last time I am going to have to be quite clear what my "lay" means for the role and being "temporary" gave some wriggle room. I am not sure I even want the role on that basis.

Closing date for applications to take on our parish is the 23rd. Please pray that we might have at least one applicant, and the right person will be appointed as our priest. We could also do with more lay ministers - Darllenwr is haveing to take services every week at the moment - our previous vicar's wife was a lay reader and we also have a retired minister in the parish, which meant that there was a reasonable rota to take services as we are a 3 church parish.
Please also pray for accomodation for Lord P

For Mrs S's E, E, N, and C, for healing.
For Sioni Sais' team leader, for healing.
For Mad Cat, for healing and a return to normal life next week.
For Ethne Alba's paperwork.
For Amazing Grace's rector, for healing.
For Nicolemr's Situation.
For continuing good progress on Golden Key's private intention.
For Ferijen's H and her family.
For peace in the Cape winelands and healing for those injured in farmworker protests.
For the conflict in Gaza and Jerusalem to be swiftly resolved.
For healing for daisydaisy.
For healing for Diomedes' grandson, and for Diomedes-in-law and impending baby for a safe delivery, and for strength and resources for Diomedes Jr to support the family.
For Jengie Jon to set appropriate boundaries and not get messed around.
For the right person to be appointed to St. Gwladys' parish. For accommodation for Lord P.
I am still quite worried about the Telemum, who is feeling terrible. She has a diagnosis of early gastroenteritis, constipation, and slightly high calcium (even though she doesn't take her calcium as often as prescribed). Please don't let this be anything more serious and please let her be feeling dramatically better by morning.
It's one step forward, two steps back in meeting my goals.

I ask your urgent prayers for Micky, a six-year old boy who had a bad asthma attack which, combined with the 'flu he has caused his little body to shut down. He was rushed to hospital and is still in the ICU. I know his Uncle, who adores him, and who sent me a distraught message this afternoon.
It's not been a good year for him - many other things happened in his life - but he, and his parents were dealing with that. Now this.
