A minor issue, all things considered, but I am leading a meeting tomorrow evening and it needs to go well. I would appreciate a prayer for our youth ministries committee.

Please pray for my nephew, D, down on his luck for a variety of reasons. He's waiting for disability pension to kick in, but it a long process and he's waiting (and surviving on social services (aka welfare) which leaves him with $160 a month to survive on, after bills and rent.

When I can find him I try to have him over for a meal, but I have to wait for him to find me, mostly.

Prayers for you all. Nicodemia: how sad - and terrifying for your daughter. [Votive]

As of last Wednesday, there had been no applicants to take on our parish - the closing date was Friday, but I haven't heard if there were any last minute applicants. All we want is one applicant - as long as it's the right person! We were told by our area dean that if there were no applicants, the advert would go out again. Meanwhile, the inter-regnum is giving some people a chance to take on tasks that they wouldn't have normally, and do them well, but it's a great deal more work for K, a retired clergyman in the parish, and for Darllenwr as a Reader. Please pray!

[Votive] Praying through, for all, by name... and very glad to find that Telepath is still following her special vocation!

I have breast cancer. Again. This time it's left breast, not right; early stages, not late; still timed just right to wreck the holidays. I'm scheduled to have a bilateral mastectomy on St. Nicholas Day. What they find then will determine whether I have to have chemo. (Again.)

I'm a little blue, a little scared, and a lot tired - I'm still on the maintenance meds for the metastasized cancer I had two years ago, and my energy level is not where it needs to be (one reason I'm not on the Ship very much these days). I would greatly appreciate your prayers.

Please pray for one of our oldest friends, S, whose wife of approaching 40 years, J, died without warning, in her sleep, yesterday morning.

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

She can only have been in her early sixties and was leading a healthy and not-obviously-stressed life. I can't begin to know what S and their two adult sons are going through.

I will be attempting the East Coast mainline tomorrow morning. I have two meetings in that London that I really do need to be at - I am the main event at both.

The weather has made what should be a straightforward journey very problematic, so please pray that the engineers will fix the problems, the flood waters recede and the train won't break down: once I'm there, I can improvise getting back...

Thank you for the prayers for my committee meeting. It went so well, to which I give all credit to the Holy Spirit and to your prayers.

I just received an urgent email from a dear friend and I need to turn to you all again. My friend is asking for prayers for her niece J, husband E and their month-old baby B. They were riding home from the Thanksgiving holiday, checked on the baby in his car seat, and found him cold and not breathing. At present the baby is on a ventilator, not moving, but there is brain activity. I told my friend that the best pray-ers I know are the ones on Ship of Fools. If you can hold little baby B and his family in prayer, I would be most grateful.
