Prayers for you, Ethne Alba. I've got one of those in two days myself, only it's not a parish that is meeting, but a college, and I'm just supposed to be part of the audience. But it could make or mar, and I'd like it to go well for everyone.

Travelling mercies, please, for my mother. Planes in Juneau grounded all day today due to a nasty fogbank, rescheduled for morning and now there's a storm up here and talk of closing Anchorage airport so she may still be stuck in Juneau. And tomorrow is her birthday! I'm very glad the pilots are making safe choices, but if the storm could maybe fizzle out a little early so she can fly? I want my mama! And nobody would wish Juneau airport on anyone.

I found out yesterday that R, a friend's daughter, has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and will be starting treatment next week. Prayers, please, for few side effects and a successful outcome. [ 12. December 2012, 10:24: Message edited by: Meg the Red ]

update- mom is in the air but we don't know if she'll be able to land. And my friends who are driving to the city to get her just sent me this text: quote: Road very dark and shitty, no visibility, white knuckle passenger and driver!
so geez, add Dave and Rodney to the list and here's to all going smoothly and airplanes landing, and trucks staying out of ditches, and moose staying off the roads, and everyone getting home safe and sound!

For Grammatica's college meeting to go well for everyone.
For safe travel for comet's mother. (And Dave and Rodney)
For healing for Meg the Red's R, with few side effects.
For successful testing for Chopped Junior.
For healing for Jahlove's M.
For keeping the Finance Monster at bay. We all know what December's like… yes, it's the month I tax my car, give it its MOT and annual service, and renew the insurance!!! Until then, I've made a small bit of progress and am a smidgen further along than I was this time last month. I do get fed up with myself for always having purses with holes in, though.
For the Telemum, whose bursitis has decided to pop round for a visit.
For R.

for each and everyone, by name and need
{{{ for Tree Bee's dad Ian - may he rest in peace and rise in glory. For comfort and strength for Tree Bee, his mother, and all who mourn Ian's passing }}}
for Telepath at a financially monstrous time, and for the Telemum
for Niteowl's mother
that the testing for Little Lamb may have a positive productive outcome
My friend J, whom I feared had been discharged overly-soon from the hospital following a stroke was readmitted to the hospital and they kept him overnight the 2nd time. He was released yesterday and is feeling much better (and sounds much better) although his vision is still quite impaired (hopefully temporarily). He has been advised not to go back to work til after the new year. (His abysmally low-paying job does at least have sick leave, and thus keeps paying the pittance.) Hopefully J will cease smoking, and stop making deep south deep fried food a significant part of his diet. He seems firmly committed to doing both. [ 13. The Dowager Mrs. S has had the warty thing on her arm confirmed as a 'mild' form of skin cancer and will soon have it removed. Thanks be that it is no worse, thank you for your prayers, and thanks again that she - an habitual worrier - steadfastly refuses to let this get to her and has explicitly instructed me not to worry either. Bless all who post here, dear Lord, and bless all those who pray for others.
...and let our cry come unto Thee.
Mrs. S, ever thankful

Could you pray for my grandson, (a young man) who has got an infected nose. He has been in hospital, been pumped full of antibiotics, and come out with further meds, but no definite diagnosis.
He desperately needs to look for a job, but does not look personable enough to go for a job interview, or even get a job (which would involve meeting the public)
He is frustrated, angry and worried.
Thank you.

Praying for all - the quick and the dead.
A little extra prayer for my friend, Mrs E.
My friend Rita who has a cancer return for the third time (and who has only 20% of her liver left) has gone on palliative care. She sent me a Christmas card saying essentially that she wasn't too bad yet and that she has placed herself in the hands of our Lord Jesus. Please pray for a painless end for her.

Thank you for your prayers- having some stuff done @ hosp. tomorrow to hopefully improve my A-Fibb: swallowing a long tube with a video cam , & then electric shock to establish a reasonably steady rhythm. Been battling serious fatigue and loaded music program. Then next month getting some basal cell carcinoma scraped off my face, which I fear will spoil my looks. . . . but who knows, it might improve me! LOL Pray without ceasing.
