I’m in a lot of pain/discomfort – not sure what to call it. I did something to my back last week and now the pain has spread all down my left leg. I can’t walk properly, sitting down seems to make it worse, I’ve got a selection of painkillers but none of them seem to make any difference. I’m a coward about things like this and it’s frightening me as well as making me feel terribly depressed. I always find Christmas difficult at the best of times - I could really do without this. I’d really appreciate your prayers

I've posted a rant on the TICTH thread in hell, but I'm also requesting prayer that our downstairs neightbour will pull his head out of his nether orifice long enough to stop shaking the whole building with his stereo. I'm tired and stressed already, and I'm finding it very hard not to cry out of sheer frustration. And the local police wait hours before responding to noise complaints, and then only after 11:00, which is 7 hours from now.

Prayers rising, Abigail. Also, for symptomatic relief, try lying down with an ice pack under the affected area. "Freezing my back" usually works for me.

I am not a doctor but that sounds very like sciatica. Google "stretches for sciatica" and you should find a youtube video showing one exercise that has helped my sciatica enormously. Even if it's not sciatica the stretch may well help. Note: again, I am no medical person at all. Prayers for relief.

My wonderful nephew J whom I love dearly has some kind of recurring mystery illness. His life isn't in danger (as far as we know) but pain, nausea and confusion stop him doing the usual things a 20 year old likes doing. He says it's like waking in hell every morning until it goes away again (usually a month or so later).
Please remember him in your prayers.

Praying for all by name. For peace for Meg and pain relief for Abigail.
Also praying for anyone who has to travel over the Christmas period. And for those poor souls affected by the dreadful floods in North Devon - there was a man up to his waist in water in the main street at Braunton. Lord have mercy.
Thank You that P was well enough to attend church yesterday. More chemo to come on 27th, though. Give him peace and rest in preparation.
We have a house guest for the next few days, so I may be infrequent to these boards, but I will think of you all when I can. God be with you.

Now 1 am Christmas Day here.
Prayers for all for a holy and joyous Christmas; for all suffering ill-health and with the concern of an operation before them; for those in need of spiritual nourishment; for those struggling with life's problems. Lord have mercy on them, and on all of us.

For all those who aren't where they want to be, or aren't with who they want to be with.
For all who are too ill, unhappy, or scared, or all three, to enjoy the day.
For all those trying to keep the peace in troubled households, or trying to provide a feast when there's not enough to go round; and for all the Marthas feeling neglected and unappreciated.

For those "looking forward" to the season with gritted teeth.
For those for whom family arguments are a Christmas tradition. May they be minor if at all, and easily forgotten this year.
And for refugees everywhere, and those to whom Christmas is a festival that they would normally observe with feasting and joy in their own homes.
Peace and joy and the light of the season to everyone.

I'm a long time mostly lurker, but this has caused me to post: Why, why, why???
This is about 30 miles from my home. My Dad was a lifelong volunteer fireman.
As Lamb Chopped would say, "Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down!"
Please pray for the families involved and also for the families of firefighters everywhere, who not only worry about their loved ones being lost to fire, but also, lost to crazy people.

For our friends the family S, for justice in the face of unbelievable trials.
For various friends who are living with grief, health worries (both mental and physical), employment worries and family stuff.

Still sick and my eyesight has chosen this week to take a leap into presbyopia so I can't read all the books I had no time for the rest of the year. I also don't think Typhoid Mary is going to be cooking up much of a feast tomorrow.
Still, it kinda pales in comparison with everything I'm reading in this thread
