Hi Cthulhu and welcome aboard on behalf of the All Saints Hosts.
Sanity is in pretty short supply around here but if you find any do feel free to snack on it, I doubt anyone will notice - I presume you have already denuded the H&As boards of any that was lurking in a corner there.
Please make sure you are familiar with the Ship's version of the 10 Commandments - yes, I know you pre-date Moses but just bear with me, right? You might also find it instructive to read the FAQs and to familiarise yourself with different purpose and ethos of each of the separate boards, this might tell you the best lurking areas for searching for sanity.
Enjoy.
WW All Saints Host.

Welcome back, deusluxmea.
Don't be afraid; we don't bite- much. Apprentices are treated pretty gently. Unless they show seriously jerkish tendencies. And I don't get the impression that you need worry.
After having reviewed the Ship Ten Commandments and FAQs, I suggest you post freely in All Saints, Heaven, and the Circus for a while and continue reading the other boards to get the feel of the Ship. Ask Ship business questions in the Styx. In Purg, Kerygmania, Ecclesiantics, and Dead Horses questions are a good way to get your toes wet in posting. Despite having members who can argue rings around many of the rest of us, you don't have to be in the top fifth percentile to enjoy yourself here. And finally for Hell, posting a short rant on the "Today I consign to Hell (TICTH)" thread won't likely get you reamed by the Denizens. [ 01. November 2012, 03:54: Message edited by: Lyda*Rose ]

Hi Elemental and welcome aboard!
I think the exchange of views thing over a very wide range is part of what makes the Ship so special.
When you signed up you agreed to be bound by the Ship's version of the 10 Commandments so please have a read through them and through the FAQs [both linked at the top of every page]. It will also stand you in good stead if you also have a look at the different function and ethos of each of the separate boards.
But more than anything else join in and have fun!

Welcome Quinquireme. Sounds like you've had a colorful past and are looking to an even more colorful future.
We have a vocations thread here although it doesn't get a great deal of traffic at the moment.
As to yoga, haven't seen much of it here. If you're keen on starting a general interest/support and conversation thread the All Saints thread is probably your best bet. In terms of Christian spirituality - well - that's all over the board.
Thanks I might just start something on yoga; my question concerned "yogaandChristanspirituality" not 2 separate topics. Also rather surprised there's not more about Green issues; there was a bit of rather faint-hearted publicity in the Church of England a couple of years ago called "Caring for God's World" which didn't sem to last long!

Sounds good. We could use members who bring new discussions to the table. I can see some good exchanges coming out of those subjects just for a start.
Erm. We have a rather quaint, old board program here and it takes a bit of practice to get the quoting and linking functions right. We have a thread in the Styx called "UBB Practice" where you can practice and ask questions about this system. Don't worry, even old hands sometimes get get tangled in quote bird nests here.

welcome from a yogini of ... 16? years or so. It's been discussed in depth a few times. the subject sort of passes through. Same with environmental issues. Don't let that hinder you, though - no problem bringing up topics again. I'm happy to engage on either topic.

Pay attention to the 10 commandments linked at the top of each page. Each board has an ethos of its very own. So watch for that.
The ship is fun. Your bench is over there, next to the guy eating Limburger Cheese. Start rowing!
And remember to have fun.

After lurking for a few days and following some interesting debates, I decided to join yesterday. My christian journey so far has been:
