Yes, I live in the Boston area, and I'm feeling a little sick right now. But, I remember that people who live in places like Kabul; Baghdad; Syria... live with this sort of thing almost every single day.

So I'm feeling - how lucky we are that such an experience is so rare in our particular locale. Doesn't make it any less awful that it has happened - but it does keep our own suffering in context.

We've seen in a number of emergencies (Hurricane Katrina etc) that texting gets through but voice doesn't. Something about overload when too many are trying to send voice, txt uses far fewer resources. That's even without authorities deciding to block voice.

[Votive] I can't get inside the mind of the twisted soul who could justify doing something like this, be it Boston or Kabul. And I've been a really sinful person.

Where evil has abounded, may His grace and healing abound ever more so.

By grace are ye saved through faith... not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath ... ordained that we should walk in them.
