Is this the usual practice in Anglican churches? Then there is whole question of reformed theology and issues such as womens ordination etc.

If you only want to discuss the Dead Horse of the role of women in the church you know where to go. Continuation of the current primary discussion on the thread will get the thread sent to DH - or closed with a redirection to a DH thread already open.

You should engage in church planting and evangelization in England. Ethnic communities of russians or greeks do not count! You should have missions aimed at ethnic anglo-british people, to teach them in their language and baptize them as they become believers. But that takes a lot more hard work, doesn´t it?

I have thought about that too - but if it were so, it would mean that we think Anglicanism is so far gone from the truth that they are beyond hope. Is that what Anglicans want us to think of them?

I have been wondering about this - why did they do that and what does it mean?

@Barnabas62 - I have tried to stay off the DH for this post, but it is difficult, since this was the very reason for the breakdown in any serious reunification progress in the first place.

True enough Mark; we gave it time here because of the wider ecumenical questions. It begins to look as though all that is left now is Horsey.

Leave it with us for now, else we start doing a Styx thing here. There's some chat going on on Host board on the continuing home for the thread.

Thanks Barnabas62 - I hope we can just answer the question about the dropping of the filioque clause in the Nicene creed at Justin Welby's enthronement, before the thread gets DH'd.

I have started a new thread on this question:
