Actually, I think they need to get them to sort out their business plans much earlier, and get some help with them to make them more reasonable.
I think the problem is that Lord Sugar want a) a good business plan and b) someone who has a good business head and can make it all happen. Both of the finalists had both of these. 2 of the final 5 had b bit not a. There might have been those with a but not b.
As I understand it, the aim is to give someone who has real long-term potential a boost to get started in a major business, with the hope that they will become a major entrepreneur in the future. I think both of the finalists have some potential for this, whereas many of those who went out earlier might have had good business ideas, but would never have made good, long-term business people.
