9. A few bits of hardware, beads, small stones, bells, etc. put in one and wrapped with a package of handkerchiefs makes a much more interesting Christmas present for someone who shakes packages beforehand to try to determine what is inside.

10. Storage for a teeny, tiny emergency embroidery kit to keep in a bag or pocket. Fill with a small canvas or bit of cloth, thread, needles, and some sort of thread cutter. Maybe a folded embroidery pattern. Could be handy in a waiting room, etc.

6. Shim to hold the back of the washing machine up off the floor while you are trying to fish out the house key from underneath. When you get it (or you give up) you can tip the washing machine up just a bit and pull the keyboard out by its cord. The only key likely to be functional afterwards is the house key.
