The pastor was notorious for forgetting the name of the baby at the moment of baptism, so the parents pinned a note to the baptismal dress, with the child's name written in large letters. Sure enough, the crucial moment came and the pastor whispered, "What's her name?" The mother replied, "It's pinned on her." "I baptize you Pinndonner Schultz, in the name of...."

I've had the same story relayed to me by a daughter of the manse as something that occurred in the parental ministry....

So where are we going? Baptismal mishaps? Odd names conferred at same? Ubiquity of clerical anecdotes?
