I have an OCR program on my computer. Occasionally, I have need to scan a paper document and run it through the OCR program to get the text. Of course, the OCR program is not 100% perfect - especially if the text being scanned is small and in italics.

Recently I scanned a document that contained the phrase "Encourage and praise."

Imagine my reaction when the OCR program turned this into "Encourage anal praise."

This lightened up my day considerably.

Quite apart from wondering what "anal praise" might look like, I wonder if anyone else has an OCR generated beauty they have experienced.

We had an anti-Christian OCR apparently. In roughly a million tries, it never, ever got the word "Lord" right. Which led to such gems as "Praise the Lion," "our help is in the name of the Loan," and "the Loin is my delight."

Sadly not, but it does remind me of the early Word spellchecker that insisted on altering every occurrence of "Latvia" (in an essay on agriculture in said country, so there were quite a few) to "Labia".
