For all
i've not been here much lately due to non-bad scheduling reasons but knowing you all are here is a strength. I'm still feeling very healthy and incredibly lucky 13 months after the diagnosis. and the last scans 2 month ago showed the little cancerous bits were stable. Today i have another scan in about 90 minutes or so.

Today I got confirmation that on Friday I'm having surgery to remove my gall bladder - a very common, straight forward procedure but I'd value your prayers. It'll be nice to begin to feel better again. In another 2 weeks I get the results of the colonoscopy that didn't find anything immediately alarming (phew) and then I can begin 2013 - it's felt like it's been on hold so far.

Re my medical appt on Tuesday -- i had a Homer Simpson moment -- in other words, doh! it was only for my monthly bloodwork jabbings and to get my next round of chemo trial drugs (which, praise God, have not given me any adverse affects at all). The scans are March 19, not Feb. 19! (So I got up extra early and forewent breakfast for nothing!)
But they put it off for a week because of the results of blood work i'd had a week earlier for an entirely unrelated medical matter with my urologist. It was noticed in that blood test that my PSA levels were up so my oncologist wants to see what my PSA levels are when they jab me next week.
My prayer in this regard is that this wouldn't lead to something like having to have a medical procedure that would cause me to lose sexual functioning altogether. (Deficiencies in this regard are the main reason i went to see the urologist in the first place -- God has blessed me with wonderful health since my melanoma diagnosis and i'd like to be able to enjoy the life God had extended to me with a functioning body -- a meaningful relation with a significant other is perhaps not out of the question yet -- in any event, God's will be done, (S)He has not let me down yet!)

I am trying to code up something for the aforementioned demo and everything I'm trying is just. not. working. to an astonishing degree. I've never encountered anything so polymorphously impossible. I actually burst into tears a couple of hours ago.
I really need a breakthrough, today, or else a very credible plan X.

For the next-door neighbours, who took my mother in when she got locked out yesterday and I was two hours away in my office. The older daughter has a very disabled son who is making good progress at school - on the order of learning to chew a little bit, and learning to grasp things - and the whole family of seven look after him so that no one person is overburdened. I pray for blessings upon this family and that they will continue to thrive.
For the people on my street who were arrested for burglary this week, and for those on this street and elsewhere who were burgled by them.
For my heart's desire.

Co-worker H & Imminent Baby. If baby doesn't come out on her own in the next few days they're going in after her. No medical problems AFAIK, but H, who is not a large person, is very big in the pregnant way, very sore, very tired, and very ready for baby to be born. Hopefully a little spiritual encouragement will motivate Baby to make her debut. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

My notice at my current place of employment is nearly out. This coming week I have three interviews. I am having to work hard on keeping optimistic about landing a teaching job after coming second in so many interviews so far. All three interviews this week sound to be a perfect match. Please hold me in your prayers: that I may perform at my best, that the schools may see my potential, that God will guide me to where He wants me to be, and that the abyss which seems to be sitting ahead of me may quickly be filled with a job where I can really make a difference.

please pray for Ann. She is a dear friend - or was - who has now decided to really hate me over something neither of us had any control over. We are both sad and disappointed, but she has turned it into this paranoia that I'm out to hurt her and her husband. Nothing could be further from the truth, I treasure them and their friendship. She knows better, but I think this is her way of coping. She's always been on the side of assuming the worst.
And she's making my life more challenging during an already very challenging time. lots of nastiness and threats. It's baffling and hurtful, but more I'm frankly worried about her. We used to be close, I love her dearly, and this behavior is concerning. I considered calling her husband to ask for some help but I'm sure that would send her even further over the edge.
I don't get it, but I'd like for her to be okay.

Do they actually tell you that you have come in second? I think my wife, Z, is a victim of age discrimination, never mind that everybody and her dog in academia here wants to teach English language and literature which is what her seemingly worthless MA in education was all about. Like me, she is a supply teacher and earns about 7% more than I do though I suffered to finish my studies as an art major and undergraduate and she finished grad school near the top of her class... This is wrong!
We're going to be in a world of hurt later on this year if she does not sign a teaching contract with health care and other benefits!

Due to not properly stretching this morning, and an awkward sudden movement, my back has "gone" leaving me in a deal of pain and unable to move unaided (even typing this is difficult) I've taken some super strong painkillers...please pray that they at least take the edge off the pain so that I can move without making the air around blue with my cussing!

Very scared about my many bad habits. My father always used to say, with fear in his eyes, that I was going to hurt myself as much as he had hurt himself in life. The alternative is policing myself one minute at a time. This gets tiring. I am awake writing this when I should be asleep. This is another misuse of my resources. I can't tell if I'm a perfectionist or my own worst enemy, or both
