My family and I had a nice visit and we are having a memorial service in February for my Aunt. Thanks for all the prayers for us. It will be most hard for my cousin, who was with Molly every day in the Alzheimer's facility.

For Mike, whose wife died today. They first met when they were both about twelve, and have been together ever since, adopting scores of children and animals along the way. Lovely people, and I don't think the reality has quite hit Mike yet.

Please pray for me and for all of us here as the new semester begins. Also please pray for my hired man, who is quite capable but needs more work than I can give him. May he find the job he needs and deserves, and soon. Also please pray for a retired colleague who has just learned of her Stage 4 inoperable cancer; she has a matter of a few weeks to live.

Met up with a friend of mine (she registered on SOF a long time ago as "Rayncatt" but hasn't joined in) and had a wonderful three hours of catching up-- in the course of which she told me about serious, scary health problems she is facing. Please pray for her.

Upholding for all of us here, particularly Himself.
For Ye Olde Motherboarde and upholding for all affected by the loss of her Aunt, especially her cousin.
For Eigon's Mike, and all the children and animals who will miss his wife.
For Cedd and family.
For K.
For some good news for Mrs Shrew's L and her husband and young son.
For Gee D in the loss of D, and for D's family.
For Grammatica and colleagues as the new semester begins, and also for her hired man to find the job he needs and deserves, and soon. For a safe journey home for the retired colleague.
For healing for Rayncatt.
During this next week, let me make the most of every opportunity, and not Blow It. I'm strangely nervous that I'm going to Blow It.
For the Telemum, especially for her appointment on the 7th.
I may have taunted the Finance Monster a little too much these past few days.
For my private intention, especially, by the 31st.
-------------------- Take emptiness and lying speech far from me, and do not give me poverty or wealth. Give me a living sufficient for me.

Praying for all by name.
In the Methodist Church, we had our Covenant Service, where we renewed our promise to God. I've copied the prayer here in case anyone would find it helpful:
'I am no longer my own but yours. Put me to what you will; rank me with whom you will. Put me to doing; put me to suffering. Let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you; exalted for you, or brought low for you. Let me be full; let me be empty. Let me have all things; let me have nothing. I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal.
And now, glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you are mine and I am yours. So be it. And the Covenant which I have made on Earth, let it be ratified in Heaven.
Amen.'

On a more personal note-- dear God, I have pretty much handed my life over to school for the last year and a half, at great expense, present and future, please do not screw with the one thing in my life that is working.

I’m getting more and more scared and panicky.
I posted a couple of weeks ago about my lower back pain/sciatica. It got worse over Christmas and I saw my GP the day after Boxing Day after several days of agonising pain. She prescribed painkillers that WORKED – great! The pain has now all gone – even better!
But… my legs don’t seem to be working properly. I have tingling in my left foot and part of it is completely numb, I have restricted movement in the foot, my leg feels weak and walking is an effort. I’m terrified some irreversible damage has been done and I’ll end up permanently disabled. The tingling & numbness are just in my left foot but both legs feel weak and heavy
The doctor arranged for me to have an MRI scan – it’s next Wednesday. I’m worried about that because I’m not good in confined spaces (I had one several years ago for something else so I know what to expect) and I’m also worried about what it’s going to show up.
Then yesterday I started to get tingling and a sort of weak feeling in my left ARM as well – that’s frightening me too. It doesn’t make sense.
I’m a compulsive worrier, I always have been, but this is really scaring me. Part of me says I'm just working myself up into a state and if I could calm down the symptoms wouldn't seem so bad, but the other part of me thinks something really serious is going on
Sorry to write so much but I haven’t got anyone else to talk to at the moment.

For Abigail
Sciatica can be SO disabling - I know, I'm a sufferer. And your symptoms do sound scary, so I can imagine how you are feeling. I am not a doctor, and so don't take this as advice, but I was having terrible pins and needles in my legs & feet with my sciatica, which, once I was over the worst (thanks to painkillers, stretches and gentle exercise), disappeared.
Don't apologise for writing a long post. The more info we have the more specific prayers can be. And I guess it helps you to organise your thoughts about exactly what it is that you are worried about.
