I heard this morning from the housing people and got asked more questions, most of which I have already answered on forms. Now they have to get things approved and if that's the case I should hear something this afternoon.

The main problem is that the place is not ready until 14th April but my housing officer will contact my landlady and ask if it is OK for me to stay here until then. As she will have to get a court order to officially evict me even if she says "no" I should stay put.

The wheels of bureaucracy run very slowly...

Silly prayer request perhaps: our heating died this morning, the caretaker did what he could. (ETA: No, it wasn't his fault - I meant, he did all he could to help! [Razz] ) However, the heating maintenance peeps were informed too late, so they can only get and install a new pump on Monday - which means a weekend with no heating at all, and outside temps plummeting to near freezing.

I'd appreciate your prayers that I could get enough electric heaters to keep me going until Monday. Luckily, the power works and the warm water boiler is electric, so at least that's not a problem. The landlord will have to reimburse the extra 'letricks.

Note: I'm beginning to understand people who cannot afford heating - this must be absolutely terrifying. At least we're bound to get that back on Monday - or so we hope.

Many thanks!

[Votive] for all

Please pray for my friend K - she is happy in her second marriage and her 6 year old son B regards his stepfather as his dad - his real father is a "scary man" who hit them both. B's dad now wants access, and K will be going to court Monday and Tuesday, She's dreading it and has asked for prayer. I told her that I would ask some mighty prayer warriors to add their prayers to mine.

For Graven Image's L, for healing.

For lily pad, against the bullies at work. In the same vein, for Lamb Chopped. Also for Starbug's N, and that management would repent of that one.

For The Midge's parents.

For Nanny Ogg's housing to be sorted out sharpish.

For Smudgie's S.

For St Gwladys' K, for the bio-dad of B to be kept away from him.

Continued employment for me, please, also good habit building and security against the Finance Monster.

For the Telemum.

For T. To get the job.

For my side-project to be funded.

For my heart's desire.

North East Quine and a few others will know the difference between "Nae affa weel" and "Affa nae weel". In a few weeks I'll have surgery that should take out a lot of cancerous stuff and get me back to the former state, and then maybe even better. Meanwhile I pray that my wife's incredible strength will not fail her; I pray to keep my sense of humour intact; I pray for the surgeon who will clean up my body's toxic waste sites. But mostly, I pray for peace in the hearts of all who must deal with this, whatever the outcome.

Mrs Sioni's 15 year old neice was attacked a few days ago when she was walking her dog. It was broad daylight when this man who had been following her, grabbed her and threw her to the ground. Fortunately she kicked, scratched and screamed, and then the dog (small but brave and loyal) joined in, so the man ran off.

She is physically OK and like the whole village relieved that the police have apprehended "a suspect", but it's the emotional trauma that will take some healing. [Votive]

Continuing prayers for my 84 year old mother, Rena. She is back home (assisted living) with my step-father, Paul. She is able to walk with minimal assistance, and can feed herself with some prompting. Prayers also for my sister, Mary and other family members who are helping look after mom.

I also ask your prayers as we continue dealing with some financial issues. Things are very tight right now. Thank goodness the landlord is patient-ish.

Thank you for your prayers at what has been and still is a difficult time for me.

I have been given a 2 bedroom bungalow through the housing trust. I'm waiting for them to phone me and inform me of the next stage of the procedure.

Because it is 2 bedroom I will have to pay the "bedroom tax" but having spoken to someone from the Housing trust on Friday it is no more than I have to find to live in this 1 bedroom place.

Please pray for patience as I wait to hear officially and sign relevant papers. Also pray for me as I try to sort out utilities and housing benefit/council tax.

I'd also appreciate a small prayer for funds to be able to buy essentials such as a cooker, washing machine, carpets and furniture and/or transport to pick up such things from Freecycle and similar sites as well a pay for a "man with a van" to move my stuff.

This is small in the spectrum of things this thread covers but can I ask for prayers for the following.

I have just sent off a video to strangers who I am having to ask a favour of. I would really like them to handle the material in a way that brings positive results. I really need to trust them to do this.

Take emptiness and lying speech far from me, and do not give me poverty or wealth. Give me a living sufficient for me.
