For daisymay's M.

What Golden Key said!

For Jengie Jon and parents, for healing and a smooth living situation.

For Pearl's sons, for healing, strength, and travelling mercies and smooth transitions.

For Starbug, for strength and smoothness.

For St Everild.

For St Gwladys, for healing and a smooth return to work.

For Ye Olde Motherboarde.

For me to get everything done at my current job before I transition to the next. For the next job to be less unrelenting in pace, and for me to somehow (no I can't think how) squeeze in some R&R this summer. I have one day off, but not if I don't get everything done I won't.

For the Telemum.

For G., for healing and success.

For each by name and need, and for with unexpressed needs

Thanks for your ongoing prayers folks. There may be a possible change in the status of the melanoma thing. I've been fortunate that metastasis so far has been only 3 tidbits on my lung which have remained basically stable over the last year and a half. Well, I had my quarterly CT-PET scan today and they saw something suspicious -- nothing certain -- on my liver, which is the last place they like to see the melanoma gravitate to. It was sufficiently suspicious that they scheduled an MRI for me tomorrow -- and I wasn't due for another MRI until much later this year. A bit nerve-racking. It may turn out to be nothing, and it may turn out to be something. Although the good thing is that even if the liver has become involved, there have been so many hopeful developments in the last 3 years that people who have liver metastases now are starting to go carry on well for years, but if the liver has become involved, it does take things to a higher level of seriousness.

And i'm still facing making possible decisions regarding the prostate cancer. So my plate is somewhat full, to say nothing of personal (e.g. transportation and taxes), financial, and vocational aspirations I prefer to deal with. (I am not the best multi-tasker.) I have a real life outside of cyber-land but for the most part I don't talk much in my physical-contact world about this medical stuff, because I'd rather go through the day thinking about my vocational and other aspirations (it certainly helps that I feel physically great Deo gratis). So this thread is where is where I mostly express my medical concerns. I appreciate y'all being here and hope I'm not too long-winded .

This is the place where we can unload safely and in good company, Malik. I've learned a lot about the melanoma journey lately, so I pray with you and for you. May you feel God's arms around you as you travel.

Thanks for the prayers.

I and my sister have had to put Mum in a home today while Dad is in hospital and Dad will join her while he recuperates or at least that is the plan.

Not pleasant and all three of us could do with prayer for having gone through that.

Then tonight we heard that Dad's operation is tomorrow. Mum according to Dad took the news badly but she would, given her memory and how she was. That does not mean she is upset all the time.

Please prayers for peace, prayers for healing and prayers that we are able to do what needs doing and leave the rest with God.

Jengie

For malik3000, melanoma et al be gone!

For Brothermr that his job hunt will be successful.

For Jengie Jon and her mother and father, for healing, peace, and efficiency in all things.

For me - I have 5 working days left in my current job and I literally do not see how I can physically do this. Task completion in a smooth ballet of efficiency would be a great thing.

For the Telemum.

For G., for healing and success.

Thanks for the prayer for my Dad, we have just heard and he has come through his operation and is now sedated in intensive care. We still have a long way to go and I know the next twenty four hours are important but to have got this far is good.

Please pray also for my Mum and the home staff looking after her, she was found at 5:00 a.m. in her chair cuddling a teddy in tears convinced my Dad had died.

Please pray for Detroit. Many of you will have heard the city filed for bankruptcy on Thursday.

This coming week is the city's birthday (Wednesday, July 24 - a young 312 years) and next Friday is the feast of Ste. Anne, Detroit's patron saint. So if you can remember my home town and its people in your prayers this week, I'd really appreciate it.

There's talk again that the Detroit Institute of Arts' collection might be up for grabs to satisfy the creditors... The collection and the building (which features a court with Diego Rivera murals) are owned by the city and so count as assets that could be liquidated. Also the city's water department, among other things held in public trust.

And I'm really sick of the nation and now world dumping on Detroit. We could use friends and support right now. The people who caused the mess aren't the people on whose backs the restructuring is being done.

(malik3000, how are you?)

It is gone midnight and I am writing a stupid paper. I want to get a really really good, nearly-usable-but-for-one-last-pass-plus-metrics-and-figures, draft completed by 2am.

(And I need the paper to be accepted, and I guess the time to worry about that is now)

Three-fold prayers requested for the Smudgie-extended-family.

For A, as he negotiates reconciliation with loved ones after a dispute. Prayers for peace and strength and wisdom.

For my brother, J, as he awaits confirmation of whether he will lose his driving license for 18 months as investigations to check that his treatment for a cerebral haemorrhage has worked revealed that, although they were successful, they have led to a second area of weakness developing which will need urgent treatment to prevent another stroke. Prayers for health and confidence and encouragement.

For my Uncle D who has severe dementia and is aspirating frequently. He is unlikely to have long to live. For D and T as they care for him. He is the last remaining member of my parents' generation of our family, a curmudgeonly old fellow but loved nevertheless. Prayers for a gentle passing.

Miss you, Erin.

[Votive] praying through.

I have four working days to invent cold fusion, write a camera-ready paper about it, and package up prototype demos to all my boss's friends. I am gibbering like Beaker as I write this.

Take emptiness and lying speech far from me, and do not give me poverty or wealth. Give me a living sufficient for me.

Also I want prayers for my relatives home city of Detroit. I have such wonderful memories of going downtown and shopping and going to the Art Museum. SAD, so sad. [Tear] I was back there last year for a funeral and it was so depressing-so many empty buildings.

Also, prayers for my cousin, D, whose cancer has returned and she has to have yet another surgery tomorrow. Just want to scream but I know she has a great oncologist, so I'm leaving it up to God's mercy and love to bring her through this one.
Being thousands of miles away is miserable not being able to be near family. [Waterworks]

Praying for all...

Please pray for a woman I don't know, whose ten-year agony was precipitated by a fall from a horse. She had no insurance and could not have her ruptured vertebrae treated. That precipitated many other illnesses. Please pray for her and all who have to walk this heartrending path in the United States.

And please pray for the Florida educational system, and for me, trapped in it. I really feel -- and fear -- that in a year or two my life will really not be worth living. I regret ever choosing this career and this job, yet I don't know what I can possibly do to get out of it.

Praying for all by name. [Votive]

I'm working towards one big immovable deadline on Friday and several other deadlines that could, in theory, be moved, but would cause a clash with other work that I know is heading to me like an expresss train. Not sleeping well and struggling to cope. I would attempt to join Telepath in the ballet, but I fear it would turn into the 'stress dance' from the St Trinians films. [Help]
