Piglet, thank you. Choral Evensong isn't really my thing but I took your advice and went to a service at another church, which helped a bit.

Still need to sort out my problems/feelings about my own church though...

Please pray for the pro-European protesters in Independence Square, Kiev, Ukraine, who are being cleared out, arrested, and in some cases beaten by riot police, armed with sticks, shields, and tear gas. Bulldozers are being used to tear down the camps. Nevertheless the numbers of protesters are swelling; people are thronging into the square. All this is taking place while EU representative Catherine Ashton is in Kiev attempting to negotiate a peaceful solution. Live camera feed and Twitter at #euromaidan. This is happening NOW.

For Brian, who somehow arrived in the neighbouring village on the railway tracks, and is now unconscious in hospital with head, abdomen and leg injuries, the latter requiring extensive skin grafts. For Lyn, his wife, who is devastated, and facing a completely remade future; and for the rest of his family.

For all [Votive]

I could use prayer. I need a new job, or else I need to find a way to get the money to move back to Detroit (and get some kind of job there). My current employer seems to think I'm an unjustifiable expense, and has eliminated as many extra opportunities for me to get extra shifts as possible (saving a whopping $147.28 each shift they don't let me work, but that would be a lot of money to me). They know I'm not making ends meet, and the higher-ups, if I'm not imagining things, won't make eye contact with me. I'm worried that my job might be going away.

And my emotional health is still just a bit too unsteady for this right now. And I have no one to talk to - especially not at work.

Some of you know where I work; please don't mention it here, in case I'm reading things wrong. Hell, maybe they need that $147.28 more than I do - but if so, there are other places it could come from. I can't be what's standing between the institution's financial health and the wrecking ball. So I also can't help kinda taking it personally, even if it's not exactly meant that way. Because when I can't take my sick cat to the vet or replace my worn-out shoes, that's pretty personal for me. When I'm not sure I'll make rent next month - or the next - that's personal to me.

I'm waiting to hear from one job I interviewed for that would be great - so I'm assuming it's not going to happen. Meanwhile, I'm still looking, too.
