A fun evening as always. Sorry I didn't get to chat properly with everyone - the challenge of a long table and lots of lovely people.

Do you know, I'm not sure anyone took any. (Though there was a degree of chat around various people having made sure they weren't wearing the same thing they have worn in other Shipmeet photos.)
Sorry.

I notice that there are fewer and fewer pictures taken now than 5 or six years ago... at least pictures that are posted. It appears to be due to the fact that in 11 years the size of the ship has doubled and that people are more cautious about posting identifying pictures.

I think it's more to do with the massive increase in prevalence of cameras. These days, when virtually everyone has a camera in their phone, there's less of an onus on any specific person to be "the photographer" for an evening. Back in the day, of course, there might only be one or two people with cameras at a meet, so they would be conscious of the need for them to take photos if the event was going to be recorded.
It's a variation of the bystander effect, basically.

Of course, with respect to this specific meet it may also be down to the "business as usual" feel it's acquired after eight years of repetition. The lack of novelty leads to a lack of motivation to record what happens.
