Thanks so much, everyone for the birthday wishes.
I had a great day. The weather was in the 50's and I was enjoying the day with the family.

Happy Birthday to my mutual birthday sister, Firenze. I also wish two other mutual birthday sisters, who no longer post, big birthday wishes.

I am older, and very blessed.

Except in Leap Years when Easter Monday falls on the second Tuesday in July, unless that is The Twelth, in which case Septuagesima is moved to the August Bank Holiday, they celebrate Christmas in Dogger Bank and German Bight, and Bonfire Night happens over a Wednesday lunchtime in parts of East Anglia.

FRUSTRATED, FRUASTRATED, FRUSTRATED!

WHY CAN'T ALL CALENDARS SAY THE SAME THING AND TELL ME THE RIGHT DATES FOR THINGS? I WASNT TO SCREAM, BUT THAT WOULD START ME COUGHING, AND I FEEL BAD ENOUGH WITH AN ASTHMA ATTACK AND IN BED ILL.

I'M SORRY I GOT THE LENTEN DATES WRONG, BUT I CHECK A COUPLE OF SOURCES AND I GET THE SAME DATE, AND I'M STILL WRONG !!!!!

end of rant, and now I'm going back to bed and take more medicine.

March 8th would have been my mother's 95th birthday. It's International Women's Day and while she wasn't a feminist she was one strong woman.

Thanks Mum.

Thank you! Am I really the first person on the Ship having a birthday in May?

Unfortunately, I will not be able to celebrate by travelling the US transcontinental railway (though it would be fun) or attending the New Jerusalem Church in London (again, would find it interesting to be there).

Wishing a very happy Vesak to our Buddhist shipmates!

(I gather Vesak is celebrated on slightly different dates depending on country...but this year they all seem to be in and around this date. And, more importantly for me, this is the date on my wall calendar!)
