I'm off tomorrow to start my new job as Bosun on a Dutch sailing ship, joining the ship in Ipswich (early train from London tomorrow morning, ew!). I'm looking forward to it, slightly nervous though, and any and all prayers appreciated to bolster me for the coming season (and for my quickly learning Dutch!). Thank you.

I would have thought the universal language of sailing would be Pirate.

I went to see Little A today - he is all skin and bone and not at all well but he is chirpy enough. He was allowed home yesterday for two nights and will be back to the hospital tomorrow for more treatment. Because of all the other stuff he has now got Oral Thrush as well, no fun at all.

I could use prayers of tenacity and excellent communication skills, as I'm off today to break in yet another doctor.
And for traveling mercies. I'm flying out, and I really hate flying in small planes in this part of the state. The weather and geography are far too interesting for air travel.

I've been having meetings at a nearby teaching hospital, undergoing evaluations to see if I am a candidate for surgery to have a gastric pacemaker installed. This is still being decided, but we've run out of other options to treat the digestive disorder I have (gastroparesis). I hope they'll come up with an answer in the next couple of days. I would value prayers.
Remembering everyone here in prayer also. [ 22. April 2014, 15:11: Message edited by: ErinBear ]

A long-standing and much loved member of our church is in hospital on a ventilator. Tomorrow our curate will give him the last rites and the ventilator will be switched off. Please pray for all concerned. It has been a shitty week to be honest. On Good Friday a friends husband died and today is the anniversary of my father's death. for a swift and easy passing for Branko. for his sister for all who are bereaved

I ask your prayers for J., who has been diagnosed with some nasty form of melanoma which has spread to the internal organs. They were going to do surgery but decided the risks were too great; they are not sure yet about chemo. Experimental treatments have been discussed. It all sounds very dire.

Dear god. Mother flying in tho sick herself, dtermined to take care of me, leaving her husband to struggle with possible new cancer diagnosis alone 2000 miles away. Doubtless intending to have a great many heart to hearts with me that i can't bear even when i'm healthy and able to hang up the phone. Nobody pleased with situation but she--husband cannot figure out how to protect me during recovery.and we all know she's going to overdo and may collapse.

I got a phone call at 00.42 to say that Little A had died. I knew he had been taken back to the hospital yesterday evening as he wasn't coping at home. He was only 6 years old. I shall remember him not as he was yesterday but as he was when I first met him at Himself and Herself's wedding when he was bouncing around and being a complete delight.
Holding us all, especially Little A and all who loved him, in the living, loving Light.

My aunt (G) died two weeks before Easter and her funeral is tomorrow. She was 91 and her quality of life had been poor for some time. We weren't particularly close but I was fond of her and she was the last one left of my parents’ generation.
Please would you pray for me as I travel to attend the funeral and for my cousin H who I think is mentally and physically exhausted after caring for her mother for a long time. I'm also worried because I've picked up that there are some tensions between my two cousins... I'd be grateful for prayers that everything goes smoothly. Thank you

On Saturday, we have (always a year day) the Indian Christian people together, with a person to speak and another to pray and we sing hymns in English and Indian. I always have to get the food organized and give them tea, coffee etc and also it is in a different church, up in London Frognal Finchley Road, St Andrews Church. It was different in the baptist church near me, easier to get there quickly.

Prayers are desperately needed for Laura, the young wife of the director of a choral group to which I belong.
Laura has been suffering from foot pain for some time. An electrical stimulation device was inserted into her spine in an effort to relieve the pain, but it only caused more discomfort from the get-go.
The device was removed and an MRI done, which revealed a "spot" in the area where the device had been (not on the spine) that is either an infection, pooled blood, or a tumor. Another MRI will be done to try to determine the exact nature of the "spot". If surgery is indicated, it will be a difficult surgery. Antibiotics are being administered in the likelihood that the "spot" is an infection.
Laura is in intense pain.
She is the breadwinner of her family, as the salary we are able to pay our director is not enough to support himself, Laura and their young daughter.
Please pray for Laura and her family.

Please also let my paper be published. I am faced with the prospect of submitting it when nobody else has read it (everyone has flaked out on me).
