I am taking my brownie guide unit to a big event tomorrow. It is outdoors all day. They are really excited although the adults are a little nervous about it!
Yesterday I fell over at work yesterday and have sprained my foot. Prayers to be healed by tomorrow would be much appreciated, it's a little worrying

School management is trying to disuade my colleague A from bringing an official grievance against me. The meeting we had with our HoD L and the regent C didn't go well. I explained my position and made my apology. She wasn't happy with this outcome, turned on the tears and asked to speak to C in private. She also made reference to 'the other occasions' on which I'd done something to upset her. She didn't say what these were, and her record of events was factually inaccurate and biased to a foolish degree, leading me to think that her grievance is vexatious.

She leaves the school in June at the end of her probationary year and therefore has no incentive to resolve things. I'm concerned about the amount of trouble she might be able to cause in the meantime.

Please pray for her. She is an unhappy person, afflicted with an eating disorder and all the attendant misery that such problems bring. [Votive]

Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. [Votive]

Thank you so much for praying about my back pain. I was able to drive for hours without much discomfort and even take a detour to some lovely garden centres. I also had a (very careful) little dance at the evening disco and a swim in the hotel pool. After weeks of pain, it's good to be back in the land of the living again. Thanks and praise to You, O Father. [Axe murder]

[Yipee] Starbug!

Please pray for A, who's 83 and trying to look after a wife who's just come out of hospital after a hip replacement. I found an email from him this morning which he'd sent in the middle of the night wondering how he was going to cope - the carer who was supposed to get her to bed yesterday didn't turn up, she's complaining about her dressings, he says that they're both at a low ebb.

There was a terrible accident yesterday evening in Edinburgh, where an elderly man was knocked down and killed. Breaking news is that he is one of ours: a Commissioner at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, which is meeting this week. I won't give any more details, as they have not yet been confirmed, but this is just awful. Please pray for his family and friends, and for the whole GA.

(This is where I get to make it all about me.)

Ken's death has been abnormally upsetting for me: my father also has pancreatic cancer, and is unlikely to see the year out (he said, with British understatement). A few brief weeks ago, he was going to die imminently - a surgical procedure has allowed him to dodge that particular bullet (which would have coincided with Big Exams for the Torlets), but time is inevitably limited.

I just feel... sad. Sad for him because he's always been fit and healthy and incredibly active, sad for my mum (married for 40+ years), sad for my kids. And I am all mixed up inside, trying to do x, y and z, and doing none of those things very well.

I’ve been feeling unwell for the last week or so – stomach pains and back pains that don’t have any obvious cause… And as always when I have something wrong with me, however minor, I’m panicking in case it’s something really bad. Please pray that the pain/discomfort just goes away (more discomfort than pain really) because it’s starting to get me down now. Sorry, I know it’s trivial.

The gentleman's name was Rev. Thomas Sinclair, Clerk to the Presbytery of Lewis. He was a man of deep faith and kindly humour; he loved the Church and served her faithfully all his years. He leaves a wife and son: please pray for them, and all who knew and loved him. And also please pray for the driver, who must be devastated. Thank you.
