Hart, if your voice breaks, as I have heard before at funerals, it will show the family how much you care. Of course, you'd rather it didn't, but if it does, don't worry about it.

I feel awkward asking for prayer here again when I very rarely contribute to any other thread. But …

I’m really panicking about health problems again. This time it’s abdominal pain which doesn’t have any obvious cause. After hoping it would go away for two weeks I saw the doctor last Friday. She didn’t know what it was, asked me to have blood tests. Then yesterday she phoned me asking me to get one of the tests done again as that result was ‘slightly unusual’. I’m now panicking, thinking that ‘slightly unusual’ is doctor-speak for ‘you’ve got cancer’. She also wants me to have a scan – don’t know how long I’ll have to wait for that. And in the meantime it all hurts! And there’s nobody I can talk to about it. And I just feel frightened. Sorry.

Abigail, my SiL had this recently. Inexplicable pain and swelling, blood tests, scan, more blood tests... She discovered there are a lot of possible causes for those particular symptoms, and very few of them are serious.

Abigail, please don't apologise for asking for prayer - that is why this thread is here. I once expressed the view that this thread, together with the Praise & Thanksgiving thread are jointly the spiritual heart of this ship of ours.

Got back from the doctor, who is not a specialist but has read over my records. He is of the opinion that this is rib/muscle pain which is basically normal for this stage after the surgery I had, and he doesn't think anything dire is happening, thank God. He is referring me to a specialist just in case anything dire does develop later, so I'll have someone who knows what's going on. Thanks for praying for me!

For suitable employment for Zeke.

For Starbug, for her team to be able to cope with their workload, for patience and understanding from the customers and for her boss to be more realistic.

For Ethne Alba’s B and his son, to be seen, and for healing.

For Hart, and for the family of Joseph David.

For Lamb Chopped.

For Raptor Eye’s L.

For Abigail, for healing.

For G.’s son S. to be brought safely home, having learned his lesson.

For two things this summer, and for my work project to succeed in plenty of time.

Please pray for our friends Ros and Howard. Howard is dying of cancer and has taken a significant turn for the worse. Their three sons have been ontacted, but one isn't able to make it till 5am Monday morning. Ros has asked that all their friends pray that Dave will be able to make it in time to say goodbye to his father, and I would ask you to pray that too.

The Smudgelet has his GCSE English resit tomorrow. He's perfectly capable of doing well but is very worried he might not get the grade he desperately needs in order to continue his BTEC course next year, and when stressed he definitely tends to underachieve.
Please pray that he will feel the deep peace and confidence to give of his best and achieve what he is capable of.
