Holding us all in the living, loving Light.
R improving slowly but the restitching has been put back to the end of the week and then he will continue in hospital for several more days, I think.

Please pray for my friend S who died in his sleep aged just 42. And for his wife C, and their two children L (4) and G (6 months) as this is going to be just horrendous for them. ![[Tear]](graemlins/tear.gif)

Continued prayers needed for Z's career as she struggles to find a full-time English language and literature teaching gig in a school which is solvent and not run by a nut-case. She finished her Master's degree in education two years ago and has been able to do damn-all nothing since then. I am a university dropout and make more money than she does supply teaching toward end of term. Even my RC bishop is praying for her since I buttonholed him after weekday mass last week!

For the soul of F, who died a week ago, after a relatively short and painful life. For the comfort of his mother and brothers and everyone else who cares about him. May the requiem on Thursday be a comfort to them.
For my mum, seeing the surgeon this week about how much of her bowel needs to be removed, and when.
For my nephew, waiting for trans-oesophageal echo of the hole in his heart, and a date for surgery or catheterisation.
For all my family, worrying about my mum and my nephew.
For R and S, still grieving the loss of their twins.
For Ken: may he already be in a place of light, refreshment and peace. And may everyone who is mourning be comforted.
For everyone posting on this thread. For everyone praying who doesn't post, for whatever reason.
Father God, hear and answer our prayers for the sake of your only son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lots of sympathy for Z as I am in a similar position. I'm currently out of work, and that is a serious worry. Today I took a step towards finding a new job, but I think it might have been the wrong step, and my worry has increased.
To paraphrase an old cry, "Give me an income or give me death!". Either would solve my problems.

Inadvertently put my foot well and truly in it today while trying to arrange domestic help for my increasingly confused mother, which she has now emphatically rejected, and whether she'll trust me again after this I don't know.
There's a huge unexpected financial expenditure looming on the horizon, which I can't see any way around.
And my aunt's funeral is tomorrow. I feel like a worm for deciding not to go but life is already fraught enough.

For The Intrepid Mrs S’s nearby church.
For Gussie’s son to find a suitable job.
For Sir Kevin, and for all those of us who miss our Dads.
For healing for Welease Woderwick’s R.
For chive’s friend S, may he rest in peace and rise in glory. For his wife C, and their two children L and G.
For Z to find a full-time English language and literature teaching gig in a school which is solvent and not run by a nutcase.
For the soul of Erroneous Monk’s F, and for the comfort of his mother and brothers and everyone else who cares about him. For the requiem on Thursday to be a comfort to them.
For Erroneous Mum, for healing, and for Erroneous Nephew also, for healing, and for upholding for the Erroneous family.
For R and S to be comforted in the loss of their twins.
For Ken: in sure and certain hope that he’s where he wants to be.
For secure employment and peace of mind for Robert Armin. (Not death at this juncture, please, excuse me for overruling that part of your prayer old chap.)
For Ariel to get the house in order. And for comfort during her aunt’s funeral.
For R. and S., G. and S., O., the F. family, and the R. family.
Also for B., who supposedly was healed but now I haven’t heard from her and I’m getting worried.
Going to ask for something pretty big at work fairly soon: for excellent timing and the utmost in persuasive rhetoric, as well as the resources to say yes to me.

My work-life has been interesting the past few years. I respect my current manager enough to be taking seriously her suggestion that I think about whether or not I'm in the area that suits me best at present. She's been making noises about redeployment. Later this week, we have a meeting with HR. It is not a disciplinary meeting (I've come close but so far avoided disciplinary procedures), but I might want to bring a union rep.
I don't want to move to an area of work I'm not enthusiastic about, just to make management's lives easier, but I don't want to be an idiot creating problems for myself and other people either.
Wisdom needed.

If anyone can spare a prayer for all the grant applications Mr. S has been slaving over, that would be wonderful. (Our church needs about £25K to repair some Victorian stonework and stop it falling randomly on to the heads of people tending the memorial garden - think of one scene in Hot Fuzz - yuck).
Thank you all your love and support.

Grateful thanks to God and to everyone/anyone who prayed for me: the tests I've had (blood tests, scan) didn't find anything wrong, and best of all, since Sunday the tummy pain seems to have almost gone! (Maybe prayer works after all )

I give thanks for the life and work of my cousin Sister Mary Christine of the Mission Sisters, who died yesterday, on her 56th birthday. I pray for peace and rest for her mother, my Aunty Margaret, who has cared for Chris during her long illness, and for her sisters and brothers, particularly her twin brother Christopher.
Christine would have celebrated 30 years of Solemn Profession next year, and has always been my idea of a model religious - hardworking, prayerful, community-building, and loving. She also had a kick-ass sense of humour, which was still in action when I saw her last weekend.
