For small country towns, in the middle of nowhere, rural Australia, who lost folk on the plane... And the whole town grieves. And in other places too, of course. For clergy and other leaders, who will help people therein. People like me, and the staff of the police station house where I am billeted tonight. Lord, have mercy.

I exercised extreme bad judgement this summer: I ignored two letters from my union benefits office and in fact, never opened the envelopes! Z is not best pleased. I was not expecting to owe them money this early as a portion of my earnings is supposed to keep the accounts solvent at least six months a year, if not nine! I have consequently lost our health insurance, but Z gets insurance from her job the first of next month.
I consequently am going to be at least a week's gross salary out of pocket for continuing coverage or COBRA. I do not want to go on her plan because I like Blue Cross/Blue Shield. This month I may have to pay cash for all of my scrips and may barely have the money to do that, as there has not been much work this summer until recently.
Prayers needed for clear thinking and intelligent decision-making in these matters. I may be able to get a stop-gap policy: I'll just have to pay the exorbitant cost of COBRA for a couple of months. I may have to raid my pension fund again.... I really wish I were an Englishman: I wouldn't have these problems!
Thanks for praying for an affordable resolution!
Praying for all who post here.
I'm working on Jersey Boys, a national touring Broadway show, for at least three days as an electrician and God willing I will get show call as a deck carpenter for two weeks. I am supposed to be a senior journeyman and eligible for this!

please pray for the soul of Bobby, an elder in a village I used to live. He was a leader in the russian orthodox church, and introduced me to the church when I was a child. It wasn't a smooth introduction ( ) but I learned a lot from him and had a great respect for him.
At the ripe age of 90-something he rolled his 4-wheeler last week hauling fish from the fishwheel and had a lot of injuries. he died from internal bleeding this morning. It's a huge loss for the village of Nikolai, and his many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Needy me, here. (me me me mememe!)
I am in a bind that I'm sure is my own damn fault but I need a LOT of patience and calmness and do-not-lose-your-shit-ness to get through this little mess, and even-temperedness isn't exactly a personal strength, shall we say. And because of the nature of the thing I have nowhere to vent and I'm really not any good at not-venting either, and I'm all twisty over it and ARGH!
The next week or so is going to take all the patience, diplomacy, and pure superkarma good luck I can muster. A magic wand would help, too.

Travelling mercies needed as I take 12 teenagers to a hot country. WHY DID I VOLUNTEER FOR THIS? WHY?
Also I have to get up at a quarter to three. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY
Also, Big Thing got off to a good start last week. May it come to a successful completion.
And may each hour's sleep tonight yield 2 hours' rest, and may I not be seated amidst a family with 3 small children under 5, as I have been on the last 2 flights of this ilk. Also, may I bring the teens back alive and well.

Thank you in advance for your prayers: please pray that I am successful in getting medical expenses paid for an on the job injury paid from an injury back in February and that there are no out of pocket expenses due to the greediness of the insurer and the incompetence of the medical staff. I shall see my cardiologist next month for a directed verdict that I am free of heart disease and that the injury was only temporarily elevated blood pressure, i.e. tachycardia. The attending doctor was surly and did not think it would be covered. He does not deserve his fee if he does not change his diagnosis!
