Let us hope that S. Truett Cathy, the founder of the Chick-Fil-A fast food empire, whose conservative stance against same-sex marriage prompted a boycott, is not refusing to serve same-sex couples at the heavenly banquet -- if invited to cater same, that is.

In Old Harry's Game, a radio comedy set in Hell, there was a section reserved for popes, who were all, perpetually 9 months pregnant.
On a similar basis, this guy ought to be given a food franchise, with exclusively gay and lesbian customers. If they want to lay off the ambrosia for a day or two.

I agree Paisley was a dreadful man who did many awful things, but shouldn't we be praying for his soul rather than assuming he's damned?
May God have mercy on him and all others named in this thread, and bring them to Him in the end. ![[Votive]](graemlins/votive.gif)

Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't have voted for Paisley if he'd been the last man on earth - but I don't believe he was all bad, and certainly no worse than some of the extremists on the other side of the Political Divide.
I understand that the people of North Antrim found him to be a very good constituency MP, who would fight for their rights no matter which foot they kicked with.
He may have been a loony, but at least he didn't actually kill anyone, which can't be said of all NI politicians.

I'm not sure if I have asked this before. Does anyone have any links to previous Death Pools? I have got the first one in 2004 and then 2007 all the way up to the present. So it is 2005 & 2006 that I am looking for.
Cheers,

She was on my list! Wow.
I thought I was granting her many decades more of life. It is a sad loss, because she was the last of the Mitford sisters, and so the last of a period that is now lost to us - a time of innocence, and a time of European unity to a level we don't see today.

I have a biography of the Mitford girls on my shelves and they were fascinating for their diversity in character. Nancy Mitford's The Pursuit of Love is a wonderful caricature of her family life growing up and a description of an entirely different age.

Walter Josef Fischer, one of Germany's most prolific subway graffiti vandals -- oops, I mean artists -- has been struck and killed by a subway train.
I doubt if he was on anyone's list, but I respectfully submit that his manner of death argues for the existence of God.

Another scores update.
Since my last report the additionally dead include Sally Farmiloe, Richard Attenborough, Ian Paisley, the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire, Lynda Bellingham and Gough Whitlam.
Twenty one of the forty three players have now scored points and top of the tree is Tree Bee with sixty seven points from two deaths. Cottontail is next with fifty six points and JFH third with fifty one points.
The Quantity Not Quality title is being lead by kankucho who has correctly predicted four deaths.

I was devastated to learn that Tom Magliozzi has just driven through the Pearly Gates. He will be deeply missed.
For those of you not in the U.S., Tom and his brother did a weekly radio show about car repairs and whatever else struck their fancy. Even those of us with no interest in car repairs listen devotedly every week (they've been on in reruns the past two years), and my biggest fear is always that I'll drive off the road laughing if I'm in my car when I listen.
