In a great example of Sod's Law, our boiler waited till just before a predicted cold snap this weekend to pack up. We are OK at the moment (although the temperature in the Elf Lass's room this morning read 12 degrees!), but I'd just appreciate prayer that the highly-recommended plumber can fit us in soon to fix it. Sigh. Brrrrr.

Please pray for the Dowager - we (Mr S and I) are away for a fortnight and her best friend for more than 50 years has just died (Elizabeth was 94, had mild dementia and was in a home,but even so...)
I've tried so hard to get her up to speed using email, so she can keep in touch, but it all seems to be in vain; and my brother and my children are all working very hard and long hours, though they will phone as they can.
Lord in your mercy, keep her safe and keep her anxiety levels down.

My sis=in=law is in hospital having been bitten by a red back or white tailed spider. She is bring operated on now. Both spiders have potentially lethal bites.

My dear friend C has been fighting brain cancer and has now been found to have cancer in her spine. It doesn't look good, and I surely don't want her to suffer. God, wouldn't this be a good time for a miracle? ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers.
Uncle D's funeral went well. Although a sad occasion, it was also a chance for my large and complicated family to meet up. Lots of phone numbers and email addresses were exchanged. And I met a long-lost cousin for the first time, who is nearly thirty years older than me! So, as cousin R said, at least something good has come out of such a horrible event. Thank you, Lord, and thank you all for your prayers.
