Rest eternal grant unto her, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her.

Wow, Zoey, are we the same person?

Know the feeling.

Anyway... I am behind on everything and am nothing but a miasma of bad habits.

Amidst all this I somehow still have to complete that bloody grant application and do everything else.

Anyway. K. needs funding, P. needs funding, it's not just me.

For M. and her family.

I really need more money, long-term. I teach and I need to either have a full position (I'm an adjunct) or to be able to add some online classes (online for my schedule's sake) to bring in more money. Please pray. (Short-term, we're fine at the moment, but if our income tax refund weren't coming in in time (it should be), I'd have to go to Amscot to borrow money against my next paycheck in order to pay the rent. I'm really, really royally tired of living like this.)

It's my last day at work! [Yipee] I'm having an 'informal chat' with a manager in another department about a vacancy for a one-year PA post that's just come up. I'd be happy to go back to the council - just not to the department that I was in. Please pray for us both to know whether I'd be right for this job.

Reading and praying.

Prayers for my friend whose mother is now ill and difficult for him to care for. She remains difficult and demanding and resistant to any sensible help. She had an infection which made it hard to breathe, and took to staying in the kitchen with water on the gas stove. (It's not the same gas stove that gave her CO poisoning the other year, but she knows what that burning gas can do.) She is insisting on sleeping in a chair, and moving only between the kitchen, the dining room - thank goodness for her soap addiction and the Eastenders festivities, and the loo. She has made an occasional foray outside, but not, unfortunately, to the doctor's. In the past, she has kept all the cooking to herself, which makes it hard for my friend to take over. He is operating on not enough sleep (she is arguing that he doesn't need much, because too much sleep leads to strokes).

I'm going to be away from the 8th to the 24th. My friend is going to need support if anything happens. There are other people, but some of them he doesn't see often. At least one has had to deal with bereavement. The whole situation is very worrying.

For ChastMastr to be able to support them both into the future.

For Starbug to immediately get that job, if of course she should have it.

For Mr. Anarchist to do that task with delicacy, and for Heavenly to get that essay done.

For all those of us who will miss Leonard Nimoy.

For Penny S’s friend and her mother.

For all those mourning Boris Nemtsov, for safety, and for all the people of Russia.

For LeRoc’s situation to resolve.

I’m writing the dreaded grant application after a lot of background reading. For ample funding for me, and also for K., and P. Also for my PhD application to be accepted, and for me not to be actually *dis*advantaged at any point by the undertaking.

For K. and M.

For the Telemum.

For wisdom with money, and money with which to be wise. Also for the success of a creative project that tends to cost money.

Asking for prayers for myself (again), which feels really selfish and yet necessary. Am heartbroken and falling apart (again) over the same guy although the outcome of our meeting last night was not exactly a surprise. Hope can be so hard to give up...

Thank you

Reading and praying.

Some answers - I happened, by chance, to decide to go into a local indoor boot fair on Saturday, where there was a stall run by Age-UK, and I now have a contact phone number for my friend if anything happens. I also found that my mobile has somehow got on it the phone number of a chaplain who has been very helpful to my friend.

But probably for the relations thread - yesterday my friend was over here, when he had a phone call - would he buy her a particular newspaper to take home? At 8.30 in the evening. In a village. And she has been to the doctor, but told the doctor not a thing about the situation.

For equally swift resolution of all finances and depression. Yay Sherry!

For Lia's heart to mend.

For Penny S's friend to get her needs met.

For both grant applications and the PhD application to succeed, with priority given to the grant applications. Also for P and K.

For the Telemum.

It's only a little thing, but would you please pray that my eye problem will get better. I have blurry vision in one eye. It's been properly checked by a specialist eye hospital and they can't find anything wrong other than 'dry eyes'. It's been going on for some months now and is getting me down a bit.

I reckon I am on the stress-monster's hit list this year.
Please can you pray for my job situation? I am currently off sick with a broken shoulder which is going to take another four weeks before I am fit for any job which requires me to use my right arm properly. And today I have just received a phone call to warn me that a letter is in the post giving me seven days' notice that my contract is coming to an end.
Money is already tight, blood pressure high and resiliance stretched to its limits. Added to which there are family situations causing considerable stress which make broken bones and job losses seem like minor details in comparison.(I also manage to have conjunctivitis and a chest infection to throw into the mix - a sure sign I'm feeling a bit physically and emotionally overwhelmed at the moment!)

--------------------
Miss you, Erin.
