Please may I ask your prayers for my old friend J. Last year her husband had a bad stroke, and J. held the fort at home while going back and forth to the hospital and rehab centre. He's doing well, but she has born the brunt of his understandable frustrations. They have teenage children, two of whom have learning difficulties, and they have been very unsettled by all this. Then J. had a health scare herself last week that could have been very serious. And just today I heard that she seems to have had some kind of breakdown with all the stress. Please pray for healing and rest for her and her family.

And so tomorrow the day comes when my Smudgelet stretches his wings and flies the nest.
I am praying for his confidence to blossom, for him to build solid friendships, for him to come to grips with managing his finance well, and for him to experience success not only in his uni course but in his putting-into-practise of the life skills he has learned. Your prayers would be appreciated for him and all those starting out at college or university this week, and for all those (me included) who begin to notice just how quiet the house seems without them.
