Praying for my friend B, who is due to have surgery on brain tumours tomorrow morning after a stroke-like episode while on holiday over Christmas. He's first on the list and it's going to be a long op. Prayers also for his wife A, staying with friends to be near enough to the hospital and just waiting to see how things go in order to take her life off hold.

Also for me. I have a horrible work thing to do that I have already failed at several times and I don't know if I can muster the will.

An update on our little canine friend Clancy, who lost a fight with a delivery truck a couple of weeks ago: After taking a turn for the worse because of an infection, he is doing much better; is home, has largely regained control of his nether muscles and even played with his cat "brother" a bit yesterday. His human, who's been very brave learning how to wet-pack his surgery site, is so relieved, as we were. (We saw the accident firsthand and rushed him to the animal hospital,, and it was pretty traumatic for us too. ) Thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts.

Praying now for our friend Pat, fighting breast cancer, who is feeling so miserable with her current chemotherapy drug that she's been tempted to stop her medication; and for Linda, an acquaintance of ours who went in for a checkup and wound up having surgery a week later for what sounds like an aggressive bladder cancer. Lord, have mercy.

[Frown] How heartbreaking. Praying for them and all.

I've not heard anything today about my aunt, but am seeing her grandson (my cousin's son) tomorrow for a hug and a cuppa.

Fed up. Yesterday an agency rang up with the perfect part-time job for me, starting on Monday. Today they rang back - the job no longer exists. Friends have been very generous, but I'm tired of relying on their kindness, of having to cut corners, of worrying about money. I want a job.

Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. [Votive]

Less than two weeks after I returned to work full-time, we received an email saying there's going to be a restructure affecting my team and others, with the risk of redundancies. There's a meeting next Wednesday to tell us the details. At least working here is never dull!

Please will you pray for the life of C., a very dear friend of a very dear friend, who is on life support in hospital. Her parents have asked people to pray, and it will be a comfort to them to know that so many people are interceding for their daughter. And if you could pray too for L., my friend, who loves C. dearly. Thank you all.

Asking for prayers for me and my father. He is visiting me for the fist time in 2 years and our relationship is once again breaking down along the old, familiar fault-lines.

I really hoped it might be different this time, but I feel powerless to change our old dynamics and too sad for words (again).
