Very sorry to see this. I worked at St Botolph's Project, Aldgate when he was community theologian at the church, and he was always enormously warm and supportive to everyone there: a master of the art of ministry through unobtrusive presence.

I found his books immensely helpful at one stage of my life. I think the warmth Albertus mentioned shone through them.

He came to speak to us at theological college. What I remember most was his quiet authenticity as someone seeking to bring God's Word in Christ to the world.
