Regarding a different kind of image, but yes. And, in other books, he plays with the idea that modern cultures put down the superstitions of "primitive" cultures, but don't acknowledge their own. And, of course, there's Susan's "Just because it's a superstition, doesn't mean it isn't true!", plus her idea of "substition". (Something which almost no one believes, but is true.)

There are also some good comments in...I think it was Benjamin Hoff's "The Tao Of Pooh". Something to the effect of "...and yet, people whose pictures are frequently in the media seem to have a *thin* quality to them". (Wonderful book. I highly recommend it.)

Hmmm...I wonder if the whole thing is fallout from being able to recognize our own reflections and images? "Why, that's *me*! But it's over there, and I'm here, and it's not safe over there, and I want it back!" I don't understand why scientists think it's such a big deal whether animals can recognize their reflections, or not--except that humans are simultaneously trying to find someone like us, and trying to assert that we're the peak of evolution/creation.

We're a weird species.

Which is insane and arrogant. All religions are mental when viewed from a point of non-belief.
To not recognise the absurdity of our own beliefs is ridiculous.
To be clear, I'm not saying don't believe what you do, but admit the materials your own house is constructed of before slagging off others'.

lB--

Clarification, please: Is that general, or directed at me? Thx.

I realise that 'you' can be specific or general. However as you, Golden Key, weren't slagging off anyone the inference is most logically general. Which, indeed, it was.
