Before I submit a list, may I ask a question?

If we see someone commonly mentioned, is it okay if we ask why? Sometimes it's kind of obvious, like somebody who's old, sick or a drug addict. But what if you really don't know, like certain musicians or actors? Then again, I might just be "behind" on my celebrity gossip!

It would just be out of curiosity, nothing else.

Here it is:

1. Dick Cheney
2. Hosni Mubarak
3. George H.W. Bush
4. Fidel Castro
5. Barry Manilow
6. Rush Limbaugh
7. Bill Wyman
8. Abp. Desmond Tutu
9. Malcolm Young
10. Bashar al-Assad
11. Ruth Bader Ginsburg
12. Mary Tyler Moore
13. Valerie Harper

Largely the same as last year, but Robert Mugabe better watch out, 'cause I've dropped him for being too durable, and also for not being worth enough points. That's done in several people over the past few years...

Please feel free to ask about anyone at all although I suspect most of us have more randomness than certainty in our picks.

However, there is only thirty five minutes to post your own list so I would get a move on if I were you.

Possibly I should have said there are only thirty five minutes but now time is up anyway.

Thank you to everyone who has put a list up. I will look through them all in the next day or so and see what interesting statistics can be extracted.

Let the excited perusal of the 2015 obituary columns begin!

Rogue - do you have the historical lists? I would be interested in how many entries have been on lists in most years. And who has been saved from the reaper for longest, by being on lists.

Just out of idle curiosity.

This year there are forty four entrants. One person only put forward twelve candidates for re-location to other realms so we have got 571 nominations in total. We were most generous to Prince Philip who attracted the attention of sixteen of us. Next most popular was George HW Bush with fourteen votes and then twelve each to Pope Benedict, Queen Elizabeth and Robert Mugabe.

Our oldest nominee was Zsa Zsa Gabor who would yield three points to one person if she died today. At the other end of the age range is Justin Bieber who would be worth eighty points to nine people. However, Jihadi John might claim either of these extremes if he/she is ever identified.

I just noticed that she died on 14 December 2014 -- but I doubt that anyone had her on their lists, so it shouldn't affect the scores.

At risk of sounding dreadfully facetious, Dozy is dead.

Trevor Ward-Davies, best known as Dozy from the 60s pop group Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich, has died at the age of 70.

They couldn't have had much profile outside of the UK, since I don't think I've ever seen or heard them referenced once. And I think I'd remember a name like that.

It musta been hell for DJs to have to say that every time they played one of their songs.

Charlie Farquharson is dead. [Waterworks] .

He was one of the few actors who could make me cry with laughter in his shows and in print. When I return to Canada, I will re-read him.

I don't know if she was on anyone's list, but Anne Kirkbride, better known as Deirdre Barlow from Coronation Street has died.

Those of us of a certain age will remember the influence of The Swingle Singers, founded by Ward Swingle, on people's understanding and appreciation of Bach in the late 1960s. Ward Swingle is now doo-wopping with the Master himself.

You ever seen his "KORN Almanac" parody of the Farmer's Almanac? Some of the jokes in there were pretty risque.
