So thankful that the strained tendon in my left foot and the strained muscle in my right knee are finally getting better. I've just come in from a two-mile stroll and NO PAIN.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

Small leaps to start with Chamois. I've had an injured knee and the joy when it stopped hurting and I could do things was immense.

I am also thankful for people, both Shipmates and real life friends who have given support when I went splat over the last few days. For some reason I have bounced back today and even done a whole heap of cleaning [Eek!] (which is totally out of character).

Congratulations Telepath [Big Grin]

We buried my brother yesterday in a short but dignified ceremony at a woodland burial site. Some of his favoured music, an address composed by his widow, which was 100% accurate, a little sunshine and the site wasn't muddy. A fair few people there said they would like to buried in a similar location.

His grandson who is three in September has been keeping them all going and no-one thought he was entirely aware of everything going on, but as the casket was put into the ground he said "Bye, Poppa" [Tear]

Today the nice man from Chorus came and fixed my phone. I'm hoping it's 3rd time lucky as the 'fix' only lasted 4 days last time. This time however he went under the house and climbed into the ceiling and told me their were 2 different faults - both of which he fixed - fingers crossed!

I have a horrible feeling the bill will be ginormous.

God and the prayers and help of family and friends have given me the strength to look after my husband during four months of gruelling surgical and medical treatment. (That's a big deal, because I have a disability and he has always supported me in the past.) I am truly thankful and pray and trust that I will be able to go on doing this as long as I need to.

I'm grateful that the certificates I had lost (see prayer thread earlier this afternoon) have now turned up - that is a huge weight off my mind, and I have a slightly tidier room as a result too!

I'm kind of ambivalent about putting this here, as I don't subscribe for a second to the 'God give me a parking space' school of prayer (which this basically was). But I think posting it on the prayer thread gave me a sense of ease that someone else might have my back (even if it was completely meaningless), and let me calm down enough to think of where to look. So I'm thankful for that [Smile]

I mislaid a couple of important items on Friday (age, where is thy victory, death where is thy sting) and am very grateful to have happened upon them again that evening. Ungratefully, while God seemed to have His ear bent my way, I sent up a prayer for more divine favor.

I just got offered a full-ride doctoral studentship to the Institute of Extreme Cleverness, and while I've been adamant that I can't afford to take up full-time study because of the need to keep up pension contributions - I also feel that it would be stupid to turn this down.

I'm going to try to figure out the details this week as I have only a week to give them my decision. On the whole, though, I think this is a Good Thing. (Plus, really easy commute.)

Oh Telepath, there has to be a way you can make it work [Votive]

I have been moaning to anyone who would listen, and some who would not [Biased] about my internet and phone service and the numerous times I have been cut off this year. It happened again today so I rang the provider and said I didn't see why I should be billed for the time I didn't have access - so they cut $60 off my $105 bill. In addition this time it was fixed on the same day [Eek!] (I suspect the blokes laying new wastewater pipes cut a cable).
