Way back in September Mrs Sioni had an operation on her foot to relieve some of the pain caused by arthritis. Yesterday the consultant gave her the clear to wear proper shoes again and start a phased return to work. It will be a few weeks before she can drive and work full-time, but things are looking good!

What good news for her. Arthritis started in my feet many years ago and I can remember how horrible it was . No longer do feet bother me, but it is bad in other parts. I do hope the recovery continues well. Horrible disease.

I am grateful for new elastic stockings. For the first time in years, I don't have to struggle to get into shoes. The only downside is the cost. 4 or six pairs a year at current CAD400 a pair.
But worth every gold plated stitch.

Exactly one year ago, I was diagnosed with a massive brain tumour.
Praise the Lord, one year later, I'm still recovering well (albeit with some minor collateral brain damage) following the successful removal of the tumour (the size of an orange, but happily non-malignant) last May.
Looking forward now to next year, and (with God's help) renewed activity at Church!

Indeed - and what an interesting and instructive experience it's been (and still is...)!
Praise God for the skill of surgeons, and the blessings of the UK's much-maligned and misused National Health Service.

Excellent news. A mate had a non-malignant brain tumour the best part of 40 years. He's still going strong. May you, with the help of many advances in operative techniques, have a similar future.

Seconded! Minor tangent: is there any subsidy available where you are? Mine cost about the same, but I only pay around 25% of it and the province picks up the rest. Thanksgiving for that, too.

Thanks Gee D!
They reckon my tumour started about 20-25 years ago, given its size (55mm x 45mm approx.). I'm 65 now, so I don't think I need to worry too much..
A lady I know (now in her late 40s) has had a brain tumour since she was in her 20s, but it's a case of 'watch and wait'. It does affect her, when she's tired and/or stressed, but not to such an extent that removal is the only option.
Praise the Lord for developing techniques and increasing knowledge in so many medical spheres!

A good, uplifting service is worth a lot, daisymay!
As for myself, I'd like to give thanks for the dental surgery of last Thursday.
As I could talk to the dentist before about my worries and fears, and he was listening and taking me seriously, this was much less traumatic than I'd thought. (I had been a few times before, but for smaller scale things.) Indeed, you could nearly say I enjoyed it...!
It is a huge difference if you have a dentist who is not only good at his job, but who takes you as his patient seriously.
Nearly no pain now, after surgery (!), compared to sometimes quite unbearable pain before. Hm... I reckon I could have gone earlier!
So, thank you very much for your prayers, of which I have been and am very aware. Another exercise in trust, and which went well.
Thanks be to God. ![[Axe murder]](graemlins/lovedrops.gif)

I need to visit this thread more often. It's so uplifting to read! Thanks be to God for all the wonderful things everyone's reporting here.
As an update, I've been at my new job a week, and it's fabulous. It's a church job - Parish Administrator - and I really love the people I'm working with. It seems like just the environment I need to be in. I know it will get stressful sometimes and won't always be roses, but I'm really grateful.

Praise and thanks for a successful family Christmas, featuring The Dowager, who behaved (mostly) impeccably, didn't fall over, and didn't end up in A&E over the festivities (if that sounds a bit of a let-down, believe me, I'll settle for that!)
Thanks also for The Intrepid Grandson's first birthday - only slightly marred by him cutting pre-molars(!). He's walking about very confidently (crawling is for babies now) and is as happy and contented a child as one could ask for
