For Italy, and the severe earthquake they've had, followed an hour later by a strong aftershock.
Given that the first one was a magnitude 6 point something, and the aftershock was 5 point whatever they will probably experience further aftershocks over time.

My father passed away this morning. He was home with my mother. She did CPR, and the emergency responders also worked on him for 45 minutes before giving up. I was able to get down there (about a 45 minute drive) in time to see his body and kiss his forehead (it's an Orthodox thing). My mom is of course shattered but trying to hold it together. My daughter (not Babs one of the others) and a family friend are there tonight with her. My sister is flying in tomorrow.
Prayers, thoughts, good wishes gratefully accepted.

So sorry for your loss, Mousethief.
Prayers for all.
And if I could ask for prayers for my cat, Spyder, who has been at the emergency vet tonight, and may have a heart problem.

Prayers for Mousethief's father. May his soul and the souls of all our departed loved ones, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Please Lord, comfort the bereaved, especially Mousethief, and Josephine and all the family.
Prayers also for those bereaved in Italy, and in the UK's recent tragedies on the coast.

Thank you all for your prayers. May God return you mercy for mercy, grace for grace. The outpouring of love from loved ones and from people I don't even know == here and at FB and others === has been a beautiful and peace-bringing wound. I don't know how else to describe it.
I add my prayers for all the petitions here mentioned. Lord grant your people healing and peace and all blessings.

So sorry Mousethief. Prayers arising for all who ask.
Please uphold my ex job share partner who lost her library post in the last round of cuts in March. She started a job 2 weeks ago and has just resigned as there was little training or work and a difficult commute. She's an experienced and well qualified librarian but these qualifications don't count for much these days.

Can I ask for prayers again for my cat Spyder? If he doesn't eat anything tonight, then I have to take him back to the emergency vet again. He hasn't eaten in two days and that's very dangerous for a cat, they start digesting their own livers. I'm very worried about him.
Prayers for all here.

Thanks for your prayers. When I got home I fed Spyder and he ate over half a small can. And he looks better than he has in days.
