Himself had kidney stones in 1998 and then a cute appendicitis in 2011 and thinks the kidney stones the more painful. Upholding Mr Lamb whatever it turns out to be.

for all in need; and for us, if you can spare a prayer, that the buyer of our old house comes up with the goods (we've given him a final "pay up or the deal's off" ultimatum for Monday, which is three weeks after the original closing date, but are worried that he may just say "stuff it", in which case we'll lose the house we want to buy and have to start selling the old one all over again).
Trivial in the Grand Scheme of Things™ I know, but it's causing us a massive great headache.

Joining you in prayer for all needs, including Piglet's.
Please could I ask for a final burst of prayer for my friend A, as the report on his professional conduct will be considered tomorrow and for those considering the facts, that they apply fair judgement and as much mercy as possible.
And then as we move into October, please could you pray for all UK parents and children in the secondary school application process, which closes at the end of this month, especially for my lovely anxious boy. For good decisions, for trust in the Lord, for relief from anxiety.

He didn't. He's been away for the weekend and hasn't been able to arrange an appraisal for his lender (we thought it was a cash offer with no conditions, which was why we accepted it), and is now saying he'll definitely pay up by Friday.
But, for all whose needs are greater than ours, which is most people.

prayers continuing for all the intentions here.
Please spare a prayer for my grandmother, who is recovering from a fall (which, thank God, did far less damage than it might have done); for some friends who are not well - for M.B., J., and D.W; also for T.S., an old friend of my father's, who died recently.

For those in the path of Hurricane Matthew. Haiti and Cuba are getting pounded and it looks like the Bahamas will be having a miserable time of it as the current course of the hurricane runs right over them. Death and destruction is being reported from Haiti.

update on our unborn granddaughter:
The diagnosis changed today w/ visit to pediatric cardiologist— it is not HLHS (hydroplastic left heart syndrome) but rather a constellation of at least 6 fairly unique heart defects, some of which are similar to HLHS, some not. That's sort of a good news/bad news situation. HLHS has not a great prognosis (60% survival rate), with these 6 defects it's more of an unknown— we might have better odds, we can't really be sure. With HLHS there's more of a known path and a clear treatment path, with this we'll be seeing what happens as we go along. We're still looking at several surgeries over at least the first 5 years, including one on the 2nd day of life, but they're somewhat different surgeries than what they would be with HLHS.

I've asked for prayer before for B and M, Master S's future in-laws. However B's condition is deteriorating fast (blood cancer, which means he can't take his Alzheimer's medication)
Please pray that he will be well enough to attend the wedding of his elder daughter, the Lovely Girlfriend, on the 29th of this month; and that M will be able to relax enough to enjoy The Day as she should.
-------------------- Don't get your knickers in a twist over your advancing age. It achieves nothing and makes you walk funny. Prayer should be our first recourse, not our last resort 'Lord, please give us patience. NOW!'
