Please pray: my colleague S's dad died this morning. May he rest in peace, and rise in glory.
As to the rest of us:
C is dealing with his marriage breakdown;
S is substantially pregnant and dealing with disturbed sleep and digestion;
I haven't slept properly in about three weeks;
Our head of department is only noticeable by her absence.
You'd get nothing for us in a raffle. Please pray
Also, remembering the other C today, for a private intention.

Please pray for my brother's wife L, who is having surgery right now for breast cancer. It is a particularly aggressive form of the disease, and we are all feeling frightened. They have two young children, ages 9 and 12, and they want to have their mum as they grow up.

My brother lives in Kaohsiung. He told us the quake was about 6.5. Lots of shaking there, but not much damage Tainan has some areas without power and quite a bit more damage, it's close to the epicentre. Hope your friend establishes contact and reports all well.

There was a construction crane that apparently toppled over on Lower Manhattan today and fell directly into a street filled with cars. Prayers for those hurt or killed.
Reading the above and praying-- the world is rumbling.

My wife R is having a risky investigation under anaesthetic tomorrow - there are dangers in the procedure they are planning, and she has heart issues anyway.
We also need movement in an ongoing problem with her pension holding company. we are trying to move her pension pot, and they are stringing things out by every possible means. This is causing both of us real stress. Please pray.

A bit late on this but a neighbour man has just had a malignant growth removed from his brain - the doctor said they caught it just in time as it was all set to cause hemiplegia type paralysis - he is not the sort of guy who would have coped well with paralysis. He still has a long way to go for his recovery, the operation was only on Saturday.

I haven't been around much lately because - of all things - I'm having extreme difficulty getting up at the right time in the morning and for the want of this nail, the shoe keeps getting lost.
I'm also slogging through a revision of a grant application that is taking FOREVER and on which my continued employment depends. Everything depends on this and it's been going on for so very very long that it's weighing heavily on my shoulders.
Would also appreciate prayers for P. who is under the same kind of pressure with grant applications.
I just need a lot of upholding plese.
Also I have an event tonight which could bring good luck if I manage it right.

My wife R came safely through her colonoscopy this afternoon, and we are now home. The good news is that the polyp seen last time has been removed. The not so good news is that due to an underlying issue it is not going to be possible to complete the examination by colonoscopy. She has been referred for a special kind of scan which will be safe to attempt in about 6-8 weeks: the specialist believes this will give a clearer idea of her overall condition and treatment options.
So: thank you for your thoughts/prayers - I'm afraid we'll need them a little while longer please!

My husband's aunt has just died...
Please pray for the DH. It no fun getting older and hearing about people you have known all your life...
