Shipmates post on the boards for 1001 reasons, but theological debate is especially prized because of our mission of Christian unrest. In this award, we're looking for the poster who's consistently provided theological argument which is intelligent (even scholarly) as well as being a good read. It's style and substance that we're after, regardless of the theological or church tradition. Know someone who fits that description? Nominate them here!
When nominating on this thread, please follow the format shown in the next post. If you don't have all the info you need to complete the nomination fields, you're not yet ready to nominate. Just make a regular post asking for the help of others in finding what you're looking for.
How to find out the URL for an individual post: go to the post and find the tiny page icon which is just to the left of the date (at the top of the post). I nominate: Anselm and Freddy
For: Theologian(s) of the Year
Theologian's best post: Well, over the course of many, many discussions I really don't see how one could pick a single best post.
My reasons for nominating: I don't honestly know what makes a true theologian, but both these men list themselves as "pastors". However, I base my nomination more on their conversation than on their vocation. I know there are some posters here who are supposedly learned theologians who lose me after just a few sentences. Although his faith is somewhat different from many here, Freddy presents a succinct and understandable viewpoint of his beliefs, and he ALWAYS does it in a kind and loving manner. He appears to be a man who truly loves the scriptures. Anselm's posts are always very solid, very scriptural in nature, presented in a straightforward and -- again -- kind spirit. He strikes me as someone who has truly studies the scriptures for himself, and not just taken someone else's thoughts as his own.
While neither one of these men tend to stir up much "unrest", IMO, they are the two best reasons to ever visit Kerygmania.

My reasons for nominating: Anselm's posts are always very solid, very scriptural in nature, presented in a straightforward and -- again -- kind spirit. He strikes me as someone who has truly studies the scriptures for himself, and not just taken someone else's thoughts as his own.

For: Theologian of the Year

My reasons for nominating: Angloid doesn't post in Kerygmania so much as the others nominated. But IMHO sometimes the best Theology is posted on some of the other boards, such as Purgatory or All Saints. This post is not Theology of the highbrow sort, but is rather Theology on the ground, of the people, born of experience.

There are many to choose from, but I'd go for NigelM too. I lurk more than I post in Keryg (even though I keep making resolutions to change that) and I always find him enlightening. He's also very encouraging of people like me who don't know as much as him when we do post.
