We can tell you this from the Lord's own teaching, that we who are still alive for the Lord's coming will not have any advantage over those who have fallen asleep. At the signal given by the voice of the Archangel and the trumpet of God, the Lord himself will come down from heaven; those who have died in Christ will be first to rise, and only then shall we who remain alive be taken up in the clouds, together with them, to meet the Lord in the air. This is the way we shall be with the Lord for ever. With such thoughts as these you should encourage each other. 1 Thess 4:15-18

Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day; Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away; Change and decay in all around I see; O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless; Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness. Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes; Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies. Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

I sang this song in church on Sunday, and it seems so appropriate.
I CAN ONLY IMAGINE
I can only imagine, what it will be like, when I walk by your side. I can only imagine what my eyes will see when your face is before me. I can only imagine.
Surrounded by your glory, what will my heart feel? Will I dance for you, Jesus, or in awe of you be still? Will I stand in your presence, or to my knees will I fall? Will I sing "HALLELUJAH"? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine.
(Words by Bart Millard, Music by Bart Millard and MercyMe)
I imagine Molly dancing in slippers that look like cats and singing in the heavenly choir.
Love and saintly hugs, Motherboard (where is that beating heart smiley?)

I woke up with this hymn in my head [ECUSA hymnal #488] and it's still there:
Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart; all else be nought to me, save that thou art -- thou my best thought, by day or by night, waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.
Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word; I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord; thou my great Father, thine own my I be; thou in my dwelling, and I one with thee.
High King of heaven, when victory is won, may I reach heaven's joys, bright heaven's Sun! Heart of my heart, whatever befall, still be my vision, O Ruler of all.
Blessings to Molly and to all keeping vigil.

In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save 'Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny No power of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand Til he returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll stand Copyright © 2001 Kingsway's Thankyou Music Used by Permission, CCLI 192168

How lovely is thy dwelling place, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, yea, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at thy altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in thy house, ever singing thy praise! Blessed are those whose strength is in thee, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. As they go through the valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. They go from stength to strength; the God of gods will be seen in Zion.
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; he bestows favour and honour. No good thing does the LORD withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in thee!

For Molly`s Mother and Father For St Sebastian For Marian For all Molly`s care=givers:
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD [is] thy keeper: the LORD [is] thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

The clear pure light of the morning made me long for the truth in my heart, which alone could make me pure and clear as the morning, tune me up to the concert-pitch of the nature around me. And the wind that blew from the sunrise made me hope in the God who had first breathed into my nostrils the breath of life, that he would at length so fill me with his breath, his wind, his spirit, that I should think only his thoughts and live his life, finding therein my own life, only glorified infinitely.

Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the works thy hand hath made, I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art!
When through the woods and forest glades I wander, and hear the birds sing sweetly in the tree; when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur, and hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze;
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art!
But when I think that God, his Son not sparing, sent him to die - I scarce can take it in that on the cross, our burden gladly bearing, he bled and died to take away our sin;
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art! Then sings my soul, me Saviour God, to thee How great thou art, how great thou art!
When Christ shall come with shout of accclamation and take me home - what joy shall fill my heart! Then shall I bow in humble adoration, and there proclaim: My God, how great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee How great thou art, how great thou art!

Loving Father, accept these our prayers for our sister Molly, as she prepares to join the ranks of the great cloud of witnesses all around us. Grant your mercy and your peace on her and all who tend her, that her triumphant passing into your glory may happen peacefully and without suffering. Comfort and strengthen us all, Father, that we may rejoice in our times with Molly, and treasure her in our hearts until that great day when we all are reunited in your kingdom. Tinge our sadness and our grieving with love and thankfulness, and shelter us all within your presence.
A candle burns in prayer for Molly in the midst of a dark room. It's bright, cheerful light penetrates the furthest corners of the freezing dark, making the room feel safe and warm.

Lighting some incense for Molly.
Psalm 141: May our prayers rise before you as incense.
Praying for Molly, to be free from pain and anxiety. For her parents, to be able to treasure their time with their daughter. For St Seb, and the others there caring and helping; for them to be strong and encouraged within themselves.
We know God's presence is always with us; so we pray that all these people experience God's presence powerfully and lovingly.
Thank you, Lord God.

Charles Wesley's great hymn.
Love Divine, all loves excelling, joy of heaven, to earth come down, fix in us thy humble dwelling, all they faithful mercies crown. Jesu, thou art all compassion, pure unbounded love thou art; visit us with thy salvation, enter every trembling heart.
Come, almighty to deliver, let us all they grace receive; suddenly return, and never, never more thy temples leave. Thee we would be always blessing, serve thee as thy hosts above; pray, and praise thee, without ceasing, glory in thy perfect love.
Finish then thy new creation; pure and spotless let us be; let us see they great salvation, perfectly restored in thee; changed from glory into glory, till in heaven we take our place, till we cast our crowns before thee, lost in wonder, love, and praise.

Eternal God, Grant to your servant, Molly, and to us who surround her with our prayers, your peace beyond understanding. Give us faith, the comfort of your presence, and the words to say to one another and to you, as we gather in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
(CofE Pastoral Services Book)
And another prayer from Janet Morley's 'All Desires Known'
Tender God, you have seen my affliction, and unbound my eyes; you have bereaved me of the burden to which I used to cling; you have woven my pain into patterns of integrity; the wounds I cherished you have turned into honours, and the scars I kept hidden into marks of truth. You have touched me gently; I have seen your face, and live.
Lord God, touch our Molly gently; let her see the light and love in your face, so that she may live for ever. Amen.

The chants are for the Christmas Midnight service. The first one, which I am listening to now, is from Ps 94:
Christ is born to us: Come, let us adore! Come, let us sing to the Lord, let us shout with joy to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come into His presence with praises, with song let us rejoice before Him.
Christ is born to us: Come, let us adore! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King over all the gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth and the heights of the mountains are His.
Come, let us adore! The sea is His, for He made it, and the dry land, which His hands have formed: come, let us adore and fall down, and kneel before the Lord who made us. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
Christ is born to us: Come, let us adore! Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy spirit; As it was in the beginning, is now and always, through the ages of ages. Amen.
Come, let us adore! Christ is born to us: Come, let us adore!

O Christ, the Father's only Son, Whose death for all redemption won, Before the worlds of God most high Begotten all ineffably:
The Father's light and splendor Thou, Their endless Hope to Thee that bow; Accept the prayers and praise today That through the world Thy servants pay.
Salvation's Author, call to mind Thou took'st the form of humanking, When of the Virgin undefiled Thou in our flesh becam'st a Child.
Thus testifies the present day Throught ev'ry year in long array, That Thou, salvation's Source alone Proceedeth from the Father's throne.
Whence sky, and stars, and sea's abyss, And earth, and all that therin is, Shall still, with laud and carol meet, The Author of Thine Advent greet.
And we who, by Thy precious blood From sin redeemed, are marked for God, On this, the day that saw Thy birth, Sing the new song of ransomed earth.
All honor, laud, and glory be, O Jesus, virgin-born, to Thee; All glory, as is ever meet, To Father and to Paraclete. Amen.

Found this when I dipped into the site linked by Erin:
"God wants His children to love everything as a part of Him, and not to feel delusively that death ends all. The ignorant man sees only the unsurmountable wall of death, hiding, seemingly forever, his cherished friends. He who loves others as expressions of the Lord, understands that at death the dear ones have only returned for a breathing space of joy in Him."

Just as I am, without one plea, But that Thy blood was shed for me, And that Thou bidd'st me come to Thee -- O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am and waiting not To rid my soul of one dark blot; To Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; Becaue Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thy love unknown Hath broken every barrier down; Now, to be Thine, yes, Thine alone, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Sweet Lord Jesus, we continue to bring our sister Molly to you in prayer... Wrap her in your love.
O the deep deep love of Jesus Vast, unmeasured, boundless free Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me. Underneath me, all around me, is the current of thy love leading onward, leading homeward, to thy glorious rest above
O the deep deep love of Jesus Spread his praise from shore to shore how he loveth ever loveth changeth never never more how he watches o'er his loved ones, died to call them all his own how for them he intercedeth watcheth o'er them from the throne
O the deep deep love of Jesus Love of every love the best tis an ocean vast of blessing tis a haven sweet of rest O the deep deep love of Jesus Tis a heav'n of heav'ns to me and it lifts me up to glory for it lifts me up to thee

Psalm 23 (from A New Zealand Prayer Book)
Dear God, you sustain me and feed me: like a shepherd you guide me.
You lead me to an oasis of green, to lie down by restful waters.
You refresh my soul for the journey, and guide me along trusted roads.
The God of justice is your name. Though I must enter the darkness of death, I will fear no evil.
For you are with me, your rod and staff comfort me.
You prepare a table before my very eyes, in the presence of those who trouble me You anoint my head with oil, and you fill my cup to the brim.
Your loving kindness and mercy will meet me every day of my life and I will dwell in the house of my God for ever.
-------------------- Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly, now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.

Christ be within us to keep us, beside us to guard, before us to lead behind us to protect, beneath us to support, above us to bless.
(from Night Prayer, New Zealand Prayer Book)
Lord, be with our sister Molly this night; guard, protect, support, and bless her, until you lead her home to your eternal kingdom.
-------------------- Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly, now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.

Here for an hour, watching and praying.
Lord keep us all, those who watch and those who are watched over, those who are near and those who are far.

All Praise to Thee, Eternal God
All praise to Thee, eternal God, Who, clothed in garb of flesh and blood, Dost take a manger for Thy throne, While worlds on worlds are Thine alone. Hallelujah!
Once did the skies before Thee bow; A virgin's arms contain Thee now, While angels, who in Thee rejoice, Now listen for Thine infant voice. Hallelujah!
A little Child, Thou art our Guest That weary ones in Thee may rest; Forlorn and lowly is Thy birth That we may rise to heaven from earth. Hallelujah!
Thou comest in the darksome night To make us children of the light, To make us in the realms divine, Like Thine own angels, round Thee shine. Hallelujah!
All this for us Thy love hath done; By This to Thee our love is won; For this our joyful songs we raise And shout our thanks in ceaseless praise. Hallelujah!

quote: Don't be afraid. Remember that you are the beloved child of God. He will be there when you make your long jump. Don't try to grab him; he will grab you. Just stretch out your arms and hands and trust, trust, trust. – from Our Greatest Gift by Henri Nouwen
Father, I am afraid. I know that our dear friend is poised to leap into your arms, but I can’t see it. All I can see is that she is perched on the edge of a great precipice and that she will soon be gone.
Help my unbelief, Father. Grant me an understanding that surpasses my knowledge, and fills my heart and my imagination. This is my prayer for me and also for all of those who love Molly and are waiting with her.
My prayer for Molly herself is that from her vantage point, from the edge of the cliff, she will be able to see you more clearly. Let her see only the wonderful homecoming that awaits her.

Q. What is the communion of saints? A. The communion of saints is the whole family of God, the living and the dead, those whom we love and those whom we hurt, bound together in Christ by sacraments, prayer, and praise.
We thank you, God, that we will not be separated from those we love.
Q. What do we mean by everlasting life? A. By everlasting life, we mean a new existence in which we are united with all the people of God, in the joy of fully knowing and loving God and each other.
If death is but the doorway to an existence of fully knowing you, then we will be bold in stepping through.
Q. What, then, is our assurance as Christians? A. Our assurance as Christians is that nothing, not even death, shall separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
What then shall we fear, if your love is every with us? Blessed be your name!

O God, the life of all who live, the light of the faithful, the strength of those who labor, and the repose of the dead: We thank you for the blessings of the day that is past, and humbly ask for your protection through the coming night. Bring us in safety to the morning hours; through him who died and rose again for us, your Son our Savior Jesus Christ.
In your mercy, please give a peaceful night’s rest to Molly. Ease her pain and rest her mind. Please give comfort and strength to those who are nearest to her: her parents, her siblings, Marian, Timothy L, St. Sebastian. In this hard time, surround them all with your Spirit.
Amen.

Bring us, O Lord our God, at our last awakening into the house and gate of heaven, to enter into that gate and dwell in that house, where there shall be no darkness or dazzling, but one equal light; no noise or silence, but one equal music; no fears or hopes, but one equal possession; no ends or beginnings, but one equal eternity; in the habitations of thy glory and dominion, world without end.
John Donne
