I am Resurrection and I am Life, says the Lord.
Whoever has faith in me shall have life,
even though he die.
And everyone who has life,
and has committed himself to me in faith,
shall not die for ever.

Hold your hands out and close your eyes
There's something in here for you
It's nothing special
In fact it's nothing new

I'm sending, sending
All the love I can
Hoping that you'd know who I am
Trying hard to understand
What it is that you meed

Well amongst the worry and inside the fear
There's nothing I can do
All that I can offer, all that I suggest
Is that I am here for you

(Cathy Burton - burn out lyrics found here )

I am not sure who wrote this poem but I want to post it since it will always make me think of my telephone conversation with Molly last night. Her final words to me were "I love you Dolphy, Goodbye" [Tear]

The last of last words spoken is goodbye,
The last dismantled flower in the weed-grown hedge,
The last thin rumour of a feeble bell far ringing,
The last blind rat to spurn the mildewed rye,
A hardening darkness glasses the haunted eye,
Shines into nothing the watchers' burnt-out candle,
Wreathes into scentless nothing the wasting incense,
Faints in the outer silence the hunting-cry,
Love of its muted music breathes no sigh,
Thought in her ivory tower gropes in her spinning,
Toss on in vain the whispering trees of Eden,
Last of all last words spoken is goodbye.

For a Friend (song by The Communards)

I never cried the way I cried over you,
As I put down the telephone and the world it carried on,
Somewhere else, someone else is crying too, another man has lost a friend, I bet he feels the way I do.
Although I'm left without, you're here within, as I watch the sun go down, watching the world fade away, all the memories of you come back to me. As I watch the sun go down, watching the world fade away, all I want to do is kiss you once goodbye..

Praying, dear Miss Molly--

This is Traherne:

Your enjoyment of the world is never right, till every morning you awake in Heaven; see yourself in your Father's Palace; and look upon the skies, the earth, and the air as Celestial Joys: having such a reverend esteem of all, as if you were among the Angels. The bride of a monarch in her husband's chamber, hath no such causes of delight as you.

You never enjoy the world aright, till the Sea itself floweth in your veins, till you are clothed with the heavens, and crowned with the stars: and perceive yourself to be the sole heir of the whole world, and more than so, because men are in it who are every one sole heirs as well as you. Till you can sing and rejoice and delight in God, as misers do in gold, and Kings in sceptres, you never enjoy the world.

Till your spirit filleth the whole world, and the stars are your jewels; till you are as familiar with the ways of God in all Ages as with your walk and table: till you are intimately aquainted with that shady nothing out of which the world was made: till you love men so as to desire their happiness, with a thirst equal to the zeal of your own; till you delight in God for being good to all: you never enjoy the world. Till you more feel it than your private estate, and are more present in the hemisphere, considering the glories and the beauties there, than in your own house: Till you remember how lately you were made, and how wonderful it was when you came into it, and more rejoice in the palace of your glory, than if it had been made but today morning.

Dear Lord, we thank you for our beloved Miss Molly, who has enjoyed the world aright, and who enjoys it even now, loving your world even as she moves from it to eternity, teaching and persuading us to see it and to love it as she does. Be with her dear Lord. Be with her always.

They say the journey's beautiful,
from the old world to the new,
someday I'll make that journey
so I can be with you.
And when I reach the Garden,
where life is free from pain,
I'll put my arms around you
and we'll never part again.

One More Arrow (song by Elton John)

He said I want to grow up
and look like Robert Mitcham
And I hope that when I'm gone
There'll be some say that i miss him.
He must have been romantic
He must have sensed adventure
And I feel the steel of his strong will
In the frame around his picture.

And he's one more arrow
Flying through the air,
One more arrow
landing in a shady spot somewhere
where the days and nights blend into one
and he can always feel the sun
through the soft brown earth that holds him,
forever always young.

He could have been a boxer
but the fight game seemed so dirty,
We argued once he knocked me down,
And he cried when he thought he'd hurt me,
Strictly from the old school,
he was quiet about his pain, and if one in ten could be that brave, I would never hate again...

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believed.

The Lord hath promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares.
I have already come;
'Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

And when this flesh and blood shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I will possess within the veil
A life of joy and peace.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we first begun.

[been out, but been praying...]

We praise and thank you, God of the Journey
for our sister Molly who is soon to leave us
We entrust her to your loving care,
knowing that you are always the faithful traveller
and companion on the Way.
Shelter and protect her from all harm and anxiety.
Grant her the courage to meet the future,
and grace to let go into new life;
through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

Truly the Lord has borne our sufferings and carried our sorrows.

Father we lift up Molly to you. We lift up her family and her friends, and ask your blessing upon them.

Look back with thankfulness and see
The thumbprints of His care.
The mist that dimmed our sight has passed,
His love was ever there.

Look forward then in hope secure,
We move towards His day.
His strength, not ours, will bring us through,
Our part is to obey

Lord Jesus Christ,
Give us the strength we need as you prepare our sister Molly for her everlasting journey. We try to be strong but it is not easy. Tears are being shed in sorrow of losing such a wonderful friend. I thank God for knowing Molly and being blessed by her friendship. I thank God for sending me my Guardian Angel. I thank God for blessing the Ship Community with her presence, her fun, her wit, and her compassion.
May she rest in peace but enjoy the journey she is about to embark on. May her star in the sky burn brightly over us all forever more.
Amen.

and yet she has touched and changed our lives.
Her kindness and compassion,
her enthusiasm and sense of fun,
her faith in you and love for you
which shines out of her words,

and enfold her with your love and peace as she begins the next stage of her journey.

They that love beyond the world, cannot be separated by it.
Death cannot kill what never dies.
Nor can spirits ever be divided, that love and live in the same divine principle, the root and record of their friendship.
If absence be not death, neither is theirs.
Death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas; they live in one another still.

This is the comfort of friends, that though they may be said to die, yet their friendship and society are, in the best sense ever present, because immortal

As Molly prepares herself, Lord, teach her not to fear. Help her to be at peace about what is to come. Please stay with her and don't leave her. Comfort her as she thinks of being seperated from her loved ones and how much she'll miss this world.

Her shortcomings are all known to You. Forgive her, God, for being less than she could have been and for not always making the best use of the gifts You gave her.

Please watch over her loved ones, Lord. Ease their pain, be their comfort. Protect them from harm. Grace them with all that is good. Shelter them with gentleness and love, as she would. Answer their prayers. Grant them health and strength, blessings and joy.

May Molly's life be a source of wisdom to all those whose lives she touched. May the love she gave remain with us always, may the lessons she taught us guide us to acts of goodness, honour and compassion. May her memory be a blessing.

Lord, I don't know what you have in store for Molly now. I don't know what lies beyond this world. But I believe that Molly's soul is eternal and will return to You. I pray that you will welcome her in love. That she will be reunited with loved ones she has lost and will watch over those she is now leaving. We place her soul in Your hands, God, and pray that You will be beside her through this next journey.

Amen.

Aberystwyth, yes.

And...better than okay-est.

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1Co 15:51-57)

God be in my heart, and in my thinking;
God be at mine end, and at my departing.
