that's what i've been doing too, janine... carrying them with me through my day. my heart is brimming full of them. i'm pondering this mystery.... how folks you've never laid eyes on can become so dear to you. perhaps it's due part to my Christiam babyhood.
it's such a lovely thing to hold them up to Father. knowing that He loves them more. ![[Love]](graemlins/lovedrops.gif)

Hi Everyone,
Just logging in to say that I have been praying, and will continue to do so for the rest of the hour. Once I've done here, I will go to the college chapel, which is small, beautiful and peaceful, and pray there.
Stay here, keep watch with me, Watch and pray, Watch and pray
Taize
I will wait for your peace to come to me. I will wait for your peace to come to me. And I'll sing in the darkness, and I'll waith without fear, I'll sing in the darkness and I'll wait without fear
Unknown.
With love,
Rachel.

Prayer for the Sick
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.
Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest your weary ones. Bless your dying ones. Soothe your suffering ones. Pity your afflicted ones. Shield your joyous ones. And for all your love's sake. Amen.

I shall be praying as I go for the next hour or so, til 5pm.
Song from a (yucky!) musical
The One Who Can Speak To A Storm
What do you do when the wind is screaming? What do you do when the waves ride high? What do you think when you wish that you were dreaming, And the storms of life aren't passing you by?
(...snip...)
"Shalom" as the sea grew quiet; "Shalom" as the sky grew bright; "Shalom" and the storm that was a riot Gave way to the peace and the light. And that's what He'll say, that's what He'll say Whenever life's threatening you harm. That's what He'll say, any time, any way, Because that's what you say to a storm.
I pray for God's peace to descend upon Molly, and those who are with her physically or mentally. I pray that His peace will calm the storms surrounding them; the wind which knocks them sideways, and the rain which pierces. I pray that His light will shine upon them, and He will draw them into the peace and light of His love.

A poem for Molly, her family and friends and my dear friends on the Ship, by Dolphy.
May all who are sad be comforted, May all who grieve be loved, May all who are dying be free from pain, May all who leave us rise again.
May we all find comfort in each other, May we all find peace in our hearts, May our memories be with us for ever, And may we all come together at last.
Let us all try to keep on going, Even though we are losing a friend, May we all learn from her courage, And may we all meet up once again.
For Molly has made us laugh, And now she makes us cry As she finally comes to meet our Father, And goes off to Heaven in the sky.
Fly far above our world, Fly high, sweet angel, fly, We will never, ever forget you, Even though we know we cry.
The tears will dry, But you never will Fade from our hearts and minds, For you, our friend have taught us all, To live, and love and be kind.
I know you that you will watch over us, While you dance among the stars, And when we hear the angels sing, We'll know your voice is ours.
So now the time is approaching, We pray for your pain to end, But as you fly into the sky, Remember you are our friend.
God bless you our dear Molly. xxx

Draw Me Up
Draw me up – draw me up When I’m weak and tired Send your wings and let me fly High to the rock
Draw me up – draw me up When my soul runs dry Send your wings and let me fly High to the rock
I’m looking for a resting place I’m longing for your sweet embrace Rough is the path to the goal I need your light in my soul
Draw me up – draw me up When I’m weak and tired Send your wings and let me fly High to the rock
Sometimes the darkness is so deep Sometimes the mountain way so steep How long seems the day I need your lightning my way

Stopping by to say a prayer for Miss Molly. Without the week-day routine, I haven't been here to post my prayers, but I know that I like many others, have been carrying Molly in my heart as I go about my tasks, and offering up random prayers for her.
I have to trust in God to make sure that all the Shipmates prayers continue to surround Miss Molly: whether from here, in church, or private; whether spoken, thought, or just felt.
I also trust in God to ensure that Molly feels the peace of having been a faithful servant, touching so many of us and showing a true love of her fellow humans here on Earth.
Peace be with Miss Molly. Peace be with her friends and family.

I will be dedicating my time in church tomorrow morning during Divine Liturgy to prayer for Molly, St. Seb, Marian, Molly's parents, and Timothy. I'll light candles for all.
That's 3pm - 4:30pm GMT.
I've been praying throughout the day and even last night as I was trying to sleep. As others have said - the desire to pray at all times and the love I feel is the hand of God at work, I'm sure.

And I will dedicate my time of rising and personal pray, followed by Mass, and walking home from church. That will be roughly 1200 to 1430 GMT (noon to 2:30pm). Alas, my church has no candles, but I will light one at home.

Heavenly Father, whose peace passes all understanding, we pray that when you deem it time, you will free your servant from all earthly cares, pardon her sins, release her from pain and suffering and grant she may come to dwell with all your saints in everlasting joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Having just discovered this lovely song- I think of Molly when I hear it...
I am a poor wayfaring stranger, Traveling through this world of woe; But there's no sickness, toil, or danger In that bright land to which I go.
I’m going there to meet my mother She said she’d meet me when I come I’m only going over Jordan I’m only going over home.
I'm going there to meet my father, I'm going there no more to roam; I'm only going over Jordan, I'm only going over home.
I know dark clouds will gather o'er me, I know my way is rough and steep; But here his fields lie just before me, Where God redeems their vigils keep
I’ll soon be free from every trial My body asleep in the old graveyard I’ll drop the cross Of self-denial And stand before the throne of God..
I am a poor wayfaring stranger, Traveling through this world of woe; But there's no sickness, toil, or danger In that bright land to which I go.
I'm only going over Jordan, I'm only going over home.
I'm only going over Jordan, I'm only going over home.

I woke up at 10:00 GMT (5am my time, 3am Molly's) and couldn't get back to sleep, now I'm getting ready to go to Mass.
From the writings of St. Symeon the new theologian (949-1022):
We awaken in Christ's body as Christ awakens our bodies, and my poor hand is Christ. He enters my foot, and is infinitely me.
I move my hand, and wonderfully my hand becomes Christ, becomes all of Him (for God is indivisibly whole, seamless in His Godhood).
I move my foot, and at once he appears in a flash of lightning. Do my words seem blasphemous? -- Then open your heart to Him
and let yourself receive the one who is opening to you so deeply. For if we genuinely love him, we wake up inside Christ's body
where all our body, all over, every most hidden part of it, is realized in joy as Him, and He makes us utterly real,
and everything that is hurt, everything that seemed to us dark, harsh, shameful, maimed, ugly, irreparably damaged, is in Him transformed
and recognized as whole, as lovely, and radiant in His light. We awaken as the Beloved in every last part of our body.

So the little prince tamed the fox. And when the hour of his departure drew near--
"Ah," said the fox, "I shall cry." "It is your own fault," said the little prince. "I never wished you any sort of harm; but you wanted me to tame you..." "Yes, that is so," said the fox. "But now you are going to cry!" said the little prince. "Yes, that is so," said the fox. "Then it has done you no good at all!" "It has done me good," said the fox, "because of the color of the wheat fields."

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Refrain
It is well, with my soul, It is well, with my soul, It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
Refrain
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
Refrain
For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live: If Jordan above me shall roll, No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.
Refrain
But, Lord, 'tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait, The sky, not the grave, is our goal; Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord! Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!
Refrain
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, Even so, it is well with my soul.

Comfort, comfort ye my people, speak ye peace, thus saith our God; comfort those who sit in darkness mourning 'neath their sorrows' load. Speak ye to Jerusalem of the peace that waits for them; tell her that her sins I cover, and her warfare now is over.
Hark, the voice of one that crieth in the desert far and near, calling us to new repentance since the kingdom now is here. Oh, that warning cry obey! Now prepare for God a way; let the valleys rise to meet him and the hills bow down to greet him.
Make ye straight what long was crooked, make the rougher places plain; let your hearts be true and humble, as befits his holy reign. For the glory of the Lord now o'er earth is shed abroad; and all flesh shall see the token that the word is never broken,
(Words: Johann G. Olearius (1611-1684); tr. Catherine Winkworth (1827-1878), alt. Music: Psalm 42 , Claude Goudimel (1514-1572))

The frost weaves ferns and sultry palms Across my clouded pane; Weaves melodies of ancient psalms All through my passive brain.
Quiet ecstasy fills heart and head: My father is in the room; The very curtains of my bed Are from Love’s sheltering loom!
The lovely vision melts away; I am a child no more; Work rises from the floor of play; Duty is at the door.
But if I face with courage stout The labour and the din, Thou, Lord, will let my mind go out My heart with thee stay in.

"Sugar Mountain" -Neil Young
Oh, to live on Sugar Mountain With the barkers and the colored balloons, You can't be twenty on Sugar Mountain Though you're thinking that you're leaving there too soon, You're leaving there too soon.
It's so noisy at the fair But all your friends are there And the candy floss you had And your mother and your dad.
Oh, to live on Sugar Mountain With the barkers and the colored balloons, You can't be twenty on Sugar Mountain Though you're thinking that you're leaving there too soon, You're leaving there too soon.
There's a girl just down the aisle, Oh, to turn and see her smile. You can hear the words she wrote As you read the hidden note.
Oh, to live on Sugar Mountain With the barkers and the colored balloons, You can't be twenty on Sugar Mountain Though you're thinking that you're leaving there too soon, You're leaving there too soon.
Now you're underneath the stairs And you're givin' back some glares To the people who you met And it's your first cigarette.
Oh, to live on Sugar Mountain With the barkers and the colored balloons, You can't be twenty on Sugar Mountain Though you're thinking that you're leaving there too soon, You're leaving there too soon.
Now you say you're leavin' home 'Cause you want to be alone. Ain't it funny how you feel When you're findin' out it's real?
Oh, to live on Sugar Mountain With the barkers and the colored balloons, You can't be twenty on Sugar Mountain Though you're thinking that you're leaving there too soon, You're leaving there too soon.
Oh, to live on Sugar Mountain with the barkers and the colored balloons, You can't be twenty on Sugar Mountain Though you're thinking that you're leaving there too soon, You're leaving there too soon.

A few verses by Jelalludin Rumi (Sufi mystic and poet):
A craftsman pulled a reed from the reedbed, cut holes in it, and called it a human being.
Since then, it's been wailing a tender agony of parting, never mentioning the skill that gave it life as a flute.
------------
Birdsong brings relief to my longing.
I am just as ecstatic as they are, but with nothing to say?
Please, universal soul, practice some song, or something through me!
-------------
The way of love is not a subtle argument.
The door there is devastation.
Birds make great sky-circles of their freedom. How do they learn it?
The fall, and falling, they're given wings.
--------------
Drumsound rises on the air, its throb, my heart.
A voice inside the beat says, "I know you're tired, but come. This is the way."

I am keeping vigil by reading Fields of Gold (how did I miss it all this time!).
Cemetaries! Yes! Elizabeth Goudge. Yes! Kristin Lavransdatter. Yes!
finding time to read lots of books by neglecting one's other obligations. Oh, yes, yes, yes!
I'm with you Molly. Go with God Molly.

It's going to be a very cold night here, and just in the past few minutes the wind has picked up. I just went off to the kitchen and found the fire almost gone out, so I have added some wood and some bits of stuff to get it going again. One thing you learn about heating with a wood-burning stove is that you have to tend it at regular intervals or the fire goes out.
A nice analogy for our spiritual life. God provides the wood pile. There is plenty of fuel, but it is in a heap. It is up to us to stack the wood and then feed it regularly into the stove. And with daily practice, we discover more and more about the subtleties of maintaining that fire. Some wood is good for a quick, hot blaze. Other wood makes a long-lasting bed of coals. Wet wood uses up almost as much energy as it puts out and thus provide very little heat. It's important to set aside the smallest bits and pieces to be used as kindling when the fire needs to be restarted.
But the most important thing is not to neglect the fire and not to forget about it.
Dear God, Miss Molly has tended her fire faithfully all these many years. You have been with her during the past few months, keeping her fire alive while her body has weakened. Thank you for all you have done for her. We pray that you will remain with her, that she will feel your presence and have no doubts or fears, as the fire of her life on this earth dies out and becomes nothing but ashes.
What incredibly beautiful ashes they will be!
