Thanks for telling us Persephone, my prayers and thoughts are with him, you and Busyknitter.
May God hold you hands as you walk through this time May you all hear the whispers of his breath as he draws close And in God's coming close may you be surrounded with love.

Oh no ... no ...
I met Ken for a few pints in London once. I'd always intended to do so again.
Please pass on our love. I'm gutted.
Words fail me. Please tell him he's loved and appreciated. Big time.

Persephone -
This is shocking news. I hadn't known he was ill, though had noticed his posting had stopped. As others have said more eloquently, he has always given so much time and energy to this community.
Please let your Dad know how much he meant to all of us, and me specifically. You will both be in my prayers.

Persephone, I knew Ken was ill (as he'd posted on FB) but had no idea it was this bad. So sorry - especially as he's been the main active parent for you.
I would like to visit - hoping you'll either clear your inbox or PM me the details - I presume he's in South London (I'm in North). Good that there's a hospice available.
And of course, for him, you and all others involved.

I'm not going to be able to come, but please know that I am thinking of and praying for ken, Persephone and busyknitter. Such awful news, one of my favourite shipmates, and I'm so glad I had the chance to meet ken over many London shipmeets and Greenbelts. Please give him my love and prayers.
[also, busyknitter, you may remember a school friend of ken's called Nigel P; he still lives in Brockley - he used to be my landlord, and told me that ken was instrumental in his own conversion. I hope you don't mind, but if you could PM me details I'd be happy to pass them onto Nigel in case he is able to visit]

Ken and I crossed swords on more than one occasion, and I've built up a lot of respect for the width of his knowledge. I remember him winning a Ship award some years back, and someone described him as a "diamond geezer", which seem to fit him well.

While I've never crossed horns with Ken at any time, I have appreciated his forthrightness as well as his ability to value diverse opinions whilst not being able to agree with them.

I am so shocked and saddened by this news. As so many have said, please do tell ken how much he means to us here. May God's love surround you both.
