The adventure known as "The Knockout Quiz" starts here for 2008.

There are some examples in LIMBO if you want to know what you are letting yourself in for.

The rules are simple but some of the competitors are not as you will find out.

What you need to know:

1) I pick a category and you make a choice.

2) Some choices are better than other choices.

3) The person making the worst choice is OUT.

To enter the competition this year I am asking you to pick a film (favourite or otherwise) and add a brief description of the plot in 10 words or less.

YOU MAY NOT PICK A FILM THAT IS ALREADY LISTED.

Points will be awarded for:

1) SMART Comments
2) ORIGINAL Comments
3) HELPFUL Comments
4) OTHER Comments (to be determined)

Nobody will be knocked out while we collect entrants.

As I am playing alongside you all my entry is:

ROCKY

"Loser with no hope gets his girl and becomes famous."

Two questions about this:

Does this mean that someone will be knocked out the moment entries are closed, or is this round a freebie?

When will entries close?

He can't knock you out, but there's an argument you haven't put yourself in yet either, IYSWIM, by not posting a movie.

For as our Lord said once in a parable, all were invited to the knockout quiz, but when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a guest there who had not selected a movie, and he said to her, “Friend, how did you get in here without a movie?” And she was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, “Bind her hand and foot, and throw her into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” For many are called, but few are chosen.’

Are words like don't actually two words joined up? If so then several posters may fall foul of the 10 word rule.

What is the definition of a word? How will Quizmaster interpret this one?

Some of us who participated in those quizzes still don't have a clue to what's going on.

If don't counts as two words then the hyphens surely would to. Like flower-pot. Thank God the rules are made as we go and can be bent by the person giving points.

Yay! I was just wondering last week if QM was going to be brave and quiz us again!

Hmmm, which movie? Oh! I know!

Return of the Jedi

Luke's a Jedi and saves his Dad. Palpatine's dead!!!

Well, I could have picked another movie, but where else would you get your groan fix for the day? [Biased]

Since I did not notice any smilies with links* and the only obvious code I thought was properly done, either I am daft or is this a preemtive hostly strike. Come on Wet Kipper, you know we would never do anything like that. We are upfront and straight foward people. Oops, I forgot you usually play with us. Never mind. [Biased]

*You can put links in smilies? I must remember never to try that. [Razz]
