If we could have some news of Auckland shippies after that horrid tornado in West Auckland, I would be grateful. Prayers for the dead and injured.

Ex-Aucklander, now living in the UK so all my news is from the web (and family saying they're fine).
However, from being in Auckland last year when they had a tornado I'd say that it's very dramatic if you're in its path, but nothing much if you're not (and the path is pretty narrow). It's nothing like the devastation you see in other countries such as the USA where twisters destroy whole neighbourhoods.

It sounded terrifying. apparently it was caused by a small tornado and a gust over 100kph. The area was approximately one square kilometre.
for the dead and injured and those whose houses have been destroyed.
for thoe who will have to deal with EQC (the Earthquake Commission who deal with insurance of householders for all natural disasters).
