I'm wondering why it needs being used sneezing on tissues as it comes out and always it's red blood! Why does that happen and I've never had that before? I have to keep sneezing and the tissue papers have lots of red blood on them. Any of you know about this and how to deal with it sensibly?

Daisy May - this is not a good sign. It has happened to me. I would get to a medic as soon as practical.

I would say don't panic - it may be nothing - but get medical advice. Maybe the new 111 service?

If you are in the UK, ring NHS direct and ask for advice - they will screen for anything serious. Random strangers on the internet can't really give good medical advice.

Thank you all for giving me information - I'll go to the doctor if it doesn't stop, and I hope it does, and being read to "jam" the nose and breath through the mouth might be useful to me.

If a nose bleed continues beyond 20 min you should get to a doctor asap.

daisymay, I realise you are probably in bed asleep as I type this but I really think you need to seek proper medical advice for this condition, particularly if it is recurring. Folks here cannot and must not give medical advice, and thanks to those who have already posted and have not done so, if that makes sense.
Be assured you have our prayers and concerns.
