For the past few years we've had a thread in November commemorating departed relatives and friends.

May they rest in peace, and eternal light shine on them. May those who mourn find solace.

My in-laws both and my mother, all too recent to not hear their voices in my head, and to think when the phone rings, it could well be them. And friend whom I am a little irked with because we planned for another conversation before he died: friendships and love are not ended with death are they?

Post in haste; repent at leisure. I must apologise to anyone I upset with my original, but Mrs. Feet and I were delighted to discover this afternoon that the event on Sunday morning was a false alarm and the foetus is alive and well. Thank you to all who sent their sympathies.

This may seem silly, but there are a few well-known folks that died this year that I didn't personally know, but who mattered to me:

--Leonard Nimoy (actor, author, photographer)

--Tom Magliozzi (co-host of "Car Talk" on NPR)

--Terry Pratchett (author, agnostic, and my favorite theologian).
