This is a sort of spawn of the 'fall' thread. Post two words and the next poster has to connect them, as briefly and elegantly as possible.

Dean Martin Roasts (whatever that is)

This is probably either a pond or a generational difference, or both.

The Dean Martin Roasts were a series of TV specials from the 70s and 80s, hosted by Dean Martin. Each episode would feature Dino and his pals mocking a particular celebrity, often someone from their own circle.

Prior to You Tube, I had only seen one or two, in the mid 80s. The shows sort of epitomize the tastes and outlook of the generation born before and during World War II. Lots of exaggerated bonhomie and backslapping ethnic humour.
