Rick Jolly, hero of The South Atlantic 1982 has died.

He saved hundreds of lives and was honoured by both Argentina and Britain.

He sounds like a true hero, and at 71, really not all that old.

I met him socially a few times, and sat next to him at mess dinners at least twice, if not 3 times.

One of the very great people that you meet occasionally as you go through life.
