The more I frequented religious discussion boards on Facebook and other places, the more I realised just how unique and special the ship is. Can't wait for tomorrow, but it will be a little bit sad as well. It's been a blast!

One of the posters I'll sorry to be saying goodbye to in moving on from these boards is ChristinaMarie. She had a quote from Closer to the heart by Rush on her sig towards the end of her posting here, and it just occurred to me that another verse would be appropriate for our move:
quote:
You can be the captain
And I will draw the chart
Sailing into destiny
Closer to the heart

And here's a spine-tingling Band Geek cover of the piece that I've just discovered [Smile]

I do feel I've learnt a lot by being here. The Ship opened my eyes to the kind of Christian trajectory that I didn't hear much about before, and that was outside my own experience.

My different perspective made my contributions less pertinent to the general flow here, I feel, but that's just the way things go. Most of all, I've appreciated the opportunity to communicate with some fascinating people.

Best wishes!

I think it's either 4 or 6 am here, but am not sure because of summer time. In that brief gap when it's summer time neither here or the UK, there's a 10 hour time difference. So probably I'll be doing nothing until latish on Thursday afternoon as I don't trust my ability to make the change while I'm getting the train to work. Then busy early tomorrow morning I expect.

Something new to look forward to. I gave up altering my time in profile as things changed with DST. And back. About a week ago as I was posting on new Ship Hosts board, I saw that it recognised where I was, presumably from IP address and posted correctly, even allowing for DST which still has a month to run here till Easter Sunday.

Just shy of 10 years on the old Ship, now looking forward to the new when my post count won’t look ridiculously low compared to other people’s (for a day or two at least!).

Still toying with changing my username when I embark on the new Ship; I’ve grown less and less fond of “Stejjie” as the years have gone on. Trouble is, I can’t think of anything better at the moment...

I'm actually getting excited about the new Ship and considered how I could mark it. The last person to be given Shore Leave was one possibility, but I shelved that. Anyway, I'll be back, in some shape or form, later today or tomorrow.

Thanks everyone.
